A wonderful place to spend at least an hour for intensive focus on work, quiet self-moment relaxation or enjoyable coffee and food! With a very nice window view of Coppergate in York, delicate floral decoration and a bit of art about this lovely city, nothing could go wrong by just sitting for a cup!
Sweetest coffee shop ever. I believe the owner made my coffee. She was smiling and looked like she really loved what she was doing. Brought a smile on my face. The taste of the coffee was great. The place was really cosy. You won't find many places where you can feel so much at home. ❤️
This was my 1st visit here as I only came across this popular Cafe by chance. Its fairly small inside with about 8 small seating tables with a further area with 4 more tables available downstairs which are accessible by a metal spiral staircase,The single toilet is also located down here on the lower ground floor so anyone with mobility issues it's going to be a problem. The staff on duty were very pleasant when I placed my order to sit inside which was a small Cappuccino ,Tea ,Cheese Scone & a piece of Dark Fruit crumble. Payments can be made by cash or card .I really enjoyed the coffee & probably would return back again when I visit York again
A lovely cafe in York. I ordered oat latte, cheddar cheese & ham hot sandwich for myself and lemon & ginger cake for my child. Everything was tasty! My child liked "the underground toilet" as well.
What a fabulous place. Found whilst wandering in York .
Such a warm welcome, lovely back story to the place. Wonderful food at a good price, delicious. I had the bacon, brie and chutney hot sandwich.
Beautiful things to buy. I have now got an Alma tote bag to remind me.
Please go and visit.
Great little cafe with some awesome artwork for sale. Coffee was top notch and the cakes were fantastic. Really friendly place and I'd definitely stop by again if I was back in York.

What a lovely place! Smiley, welcoming, very friendly lady served me. I had just been to my dentist and hadn't noticed this place before. Great food at reasonable prices. They had oat milk for my hot chocolate and the cheese, brie and chutney sandwich was delicious and was a sandwich and a half! There is additional seating downstairs via the spiral staircase. And their, as advertised, "extraordinary toilet" is also downstairs - has a recycled copper steampunk vibe. The light fittings downstairs are also a bit steampunky. There are also books to read downstairs and some squidgy, comfy seating. Sells some nice gift ideas, I was intrigued by the shopping bag with flattened cork on it. I need to come back and try their milkshakes next time n mhaps one of their rather delicious looking cakes. A relative newcomer on the York scene and a very welcome one. Bravo, well done and I shall be returning and highly commend this place to you.
I grabbed a coffee here whilst visiting York a few months ago and it was the most delicious coffee flavour I've ever had. I immediately came back the next day.
The owner is also extremely friendly and makes you feel at home right away.
Visited York for the day and I always like to Google independent cafes in the area and use them rather than the ubiquitous costa etc.
This cafe attracted us due to the family story and the logo of the family tuxedo cat as we have two tuxedo kitties.
Nice warm welcome here and a tasty warm cheese scone and a flat white. My daughter had a drink and delicious Malteser brownie .
Very clean cafe and little gift area and art work on the walls .
Would highly recommend a visit here .
Gorgeous independent cafe in the city centre, serving the best coffee I've had in a while. The bacon and brie toastie was just scrummy!
Can't wait to go back for more!
Keep up the great work :)
