This place it’s a must go. Cute little restaurant in the center of town. The food is to die for. I had the eggs benedict and they were made to perfection. The presentation of everything is so inviting. They also have great customer service. I highly recommend this place!!!!
We stopped here for drinks and a snack. We wanted somewhere a bit quieter and less crowded than the mainstream places and not some overpriced tourist trap.
West meets East was perfect, a very relaxed atmosphere, the staff were pleasant and friendly. We ordered Earl grey tea, a diet Coke, a ham and cheese toasted croissant and a little bowl of chips. The tea was the nicest Earl grey I have ever had. The "toastie" was lovely, it came with a little side salad that had some bizzare dressing on it that was beyond tasty.
All in all, this is the cafe to go to when in York.
Chinese crepe was different but a very tasty breakfast treat. And I went for the unorthodox and ordered a freakshake for breakfast. Went down a treat. My mate had the full English and it looked delightful. Would like to return to try the full English myself and maybe a different freakshake. The only reason I have 4 stars was because they forgot my order and service was a little slow. It was quite busy though and only 2 servers who were run off their feet. All in all a lovely breakfast
Wonderful food and drink, kind and fun staff, a home away from home. They serve an authentic Chinese bubble/milk tea which is really hard to come by in the UK. This place is honestly like a little treasure. If you're passing by York this is such a nice place to sit down have some food and drink and maybe even make some new friends. It's a lovely environment! I have only good things to say about it.
Came in for deserts with my Girlfriend this place was lovely offering sofa seats the staff were extremely friendly the waitress came right over literally straight after we sat down which was a bonus. Haven't tried anything else on the menu as in mains. The atmosphere as said in another review is peaceful that's one of the best things I liked about here. Due to my experience of my visit 4 stars and will probably be returning at some point!
Love this place, very peaceful and good quality. Great space to do my studying and meetup with friends.
I’d love to visit again. I'd recommend it as a nice place to go with friends, family, or a partner. Do try their famous Chimney cake
This cafe is situated in the heart of city center area near the Shambles Market. It is a favorite for food lovers.
The decor is a stunning mix of artificial and real plants. Seating outside with comfortable armchairs with old city view.
👌🏼
Duo is a lovely, cozy cafe with a lot of options for food and drink, and friendly staff. They have breakfast and brunch options, as well as Chinese crepes, cake and also the Hungarian specialty of Chimney cake. It's also a great place to go for a coffee or bubble tea. Well worth a visit if you're in the area and want to relax.
The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering breakfast and main courses that will appeal to youngsters and adults alike. I had duck crepe. My friend tried the prawn crepe. They were all exquisite. It was all followed by a strawberry Chimney cake with a generous of vanilla ice cream.
Went in on a whim because Costa and Caffe Nero were full. I struggle going to restaurants and cafes alone sometimes due to my anxiety, I end up feeling self-conscious at times, but I'm glad I did. From the moment I came inside, I was made to feel welcome by the lovely barista behind the counter.
I managed to get some of my writing for work done while enjoying some great coffee. The coffee was far superior to any chain and you could tell it was prepared with care. Good music and a nice quiet place to unwind. A bit studenty but hey, I can't complain when I was there to work too haha. Thanks again to the owner and barista for a great experience.
