This is a superb local for the locals. The beer, what I sampled of it was A1 and the food, what I saw of it (for other tables) seemed great. I would not advise having too many sherbets if driving as the roads here are truly tretchorous. The Carpenters Arms in Felixkirk is nearby and also worth a vis
Nice sized pub with loads of outdoor seating with some fabulous views. Old building with loads of character and a beautiful open fire. Nice beers on tap from Helmsley Brewery. Didn't eat as we were just passing by and also it was fully booked for Mother's Day.
We stayed here in late April. Our room was in the annex which is directly opposite the Owl. I am not fond of annexes but in this case the room was really good and quiet, unfortunately the heating was poor and hence the room was rather cool.
The owl itself is really great, comfortable bar area and a
Fabulous traditional Yorkshire pub with rooms. Recently, very tastefully, refurbished to a high standard but retaining the character.

We used to be regular visitors to The Owl over the years when it was The Inn at Hawnby as we always used to love the peace ad quiet, countryside and great food and drink. When it closed a number of years ago we were gutted and regularly searched online to see if it was reopening.
Once we heard it wa
The setting is truly magnificent. We had an evening meal outside as we have a yappy dog. The food was delicious and we felt very well looked after by the attentive staff. The ambiance inside was lively and fun. Thank you. We can highly recommend you and will definitely be back.
We stayed here in 2016 with our large family and filled all but one room. It's lovely and we had a fabulous time. Excellent food, plenty of it and a great selection of drinks at the bar. Very cosy atmosphere. Hope to revisit next time we get back to Blighty.
We stayed at the Owl for two days and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent and couldn't do enough to help (Chris was especially helpful). The location was excellent and good for short or long walks. Our room had stunning views. The food was a four star but we decided on a five star over
