Visited 6/23 with a group of friends whilst on holiday. A proper pub with a good range of beers. We were there on the evening of the Champions League final and there was a great atmosphere. Returned the following night too! Can't comment on food - don't even know if they do it!
Great local pub. Regulars are talkative. Bar tenders (one at a time!) keep up with the throngs of customers...AND...they were super nice sharing local details and tidbits to this American tourist. Thanks for the tip on going to York Racecourse for MacMillan day (and saying hi at the Clockhouse f
No food just drinks but this is a small corner bar to sit in the afternoon and watch sports with everyone. It hosts trivia nights and opens until pretty late everyday.
Smashing little pub. Lovely staff. We felt very welcome and they have a couple of great local beers.

I came to York for a getaway weekend, used to live in York for over a year and passed by this pub so many times, but didn't visit for the first time until after moving away lol. It was a pleasure to meet Ruth, Phil and John, they were so nice and so lovely to chat with, will definitely be back here
