I bought a breakfast bun. Thinking it would have been bacon, sausage and egg. I didn't know it was bacon, cheese, onions and egg. Very odd combination but tasty nonetheless. A great selection of hot sauces to choose from too.
Lived up to the hype. Tried their Brioche bun with berries and scrambled eggs on toast, both very good. Generous portion as well.
John recently catered a big family birthday party buffet. It was an excellent spread at very reasonable cost. If you're ever in York for a few days and want to know where to get a really nice breakfast in the morning to sort you out after a night out then look no further than Sunny's as the breakfast was amazing and everything in general. Highly recommended.
Good place for a sandwich or a toasty.
Their coffee is good as well. On a bit of a slower side, but well worth the wait.

Had a cheese toastie with 3 cheeses on Thursday which was sublime. Went back Friday and had a sit down breakfast which again was top tier đź‘Ś only down side was the wating time due to staff shortages otherwise it'd been 5 star service. Will definitely go back when in the area
Service was a little slow, but its a really nice place with some lovely food.
Everyone was friendly, the food was good, and the prices were reasonable. I'm definitely going there again.
Bacon sandwich only took a few minutes to come and they wrapped it in foil so it wouldn’t go cold on the way home. Delicious

Better quality than the other sandwich shop a bit further down the road. More expensive but worth it. I got a full breakfast the last week here and the sausages were microwaved. See pic below. Only grumble about this place is that.

Sunny’s cafe provided an outstanding buffet for our student event last week at The Boulevard. It was varied, well presented and absolutely delicious......I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you John and team .
The best cafe in York! The food is always top notch, straightforward, unpretentious fare that tastes great and fills you up for under a tenner. Feels rare nowadays! The service is always friendly and they do great coffee too.
