This was our second visit and again we were really pleased, the food was excellent I am gluten free and I ordered the pepperoni pizza which was first class the best I have eaten anywhere normally they are quite dry and floury this wasn’t it was really flavoursome, good waitress service and good atmosphere, will be visiting again.
Came here for a Valentines meal and I couldn't fault anything from the second we entered to the moment we left. The food was delicious and full of flavour, the service was spot on and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return.
Ate here with today with my friend and had an absolutely beautiful meal. Could not fault anything. Our waiter, Paul, was so lovely and accommodating. Will definitely visit the next time I’m in York and would highly recommend to anybody �����
Lovely meal� my friend was also a vegan was happy with the menu, but when asking for a coffee after the meal the waiter said they wasn't no vegan milk ei soya milk or coconut milk
Fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the service was fast, and the staff were really great. To say the place was really busy the visit on a whole was great. Will definitely be visiting again.

Our mothers day meal was fantastic! We didnt feel rushed and our food was all freshly prepared. Our server Harry was attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. A total star! We'll definitely be back. x

We came tonight and our main server was Kathryn. The building was gorgeous and great atmosphere.There was a valentines menu, but also the normal menu , which i loved as many places only offer a set menu when it's an occassion.
Kathryn was super helpful, and accomodating with my ingredient changes. Bubbly and professional.

Joined a long queue but were seated very quickly. We noticed that the manager was very hands on. Drinks served promptly. Had lobster and prawn pasta. Plenty of sea food on the plate. Food very hot. My chocolate Etna was amazing. The young lady looking after our table was very attentive. No complaints from any of us four guests from Derby, Derbyshire.
Visited here last night for our daughter's 13th birthday meal (booked a few months ago via email - prompt and friendly response). Absolutely lovely evening. The food was delicious, the Christmas atmosphere was lovely and the man that looked after our table was great too! Really looked after us all. Our daughter and her friends had a great time. A lovely surprise too that the chocolate cake was brought over and the staff and other diners sang 'Happy Birthday'! Cannot wait to return! A huge thank you to all involved in making our daughter's 13th birthday so special. I can highly recommend. Thank you!!

A lovely atmosphere to the resteraunt in a stunning location. The food was good quality, although poorly presented and lacking in portion sizes. The waiting staff where attentive, however upon payment and splitting of the bill there became quite abit of confusion and I would suggest maybe more training in this particular area.
fast, friendly and efficient waitresses. i would recommend the fresh pasta. it was so tasty. as well as the homemade raspberry lemonade. the venue left me speechless, when step inside, you’ll know what i mean!
Wow. Such a beautiful and romantic restaurant. I had very nice, icy lemonade which cost me less than £3 per small bottle. I skipped starters. For main, I had prawn and crayfish tagliatelle which was really yummy. I finished my meal with very light mini tiramisu slices, Italian gelato and waffle base in my £6.95 tiramisu sundae.
Went as a couple on a Monday for lunch. Used my taste card so got a nice saving. Stunning building, excellent service. Chocolate gnocchi was delicious!
Can't rate food 5 stars, as it wasn't good enough to compare with other ASK Italian restaurants. The service was great. Really nice building.

We recently celebrated our second anniversary at ASK Italian in York, and it was truly a delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant's ambiance and warm atmosphere set the stage for a wonderful evening.
The service at ASK Italian was exceptional, but what made our evening truly special was the attention and care we received from Lumi, the charming manager who greeted us and seated us at our table. Her genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel valued as guests, and she ensured that our every need was met throughout the evening. Lumi's professionalism and friendly demeanor truly elevated our dining experience.
As for the food, we were blown away by the exquisite flavors and presentation of each dish. The menu offered a wide variety of Italian classics, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The attention to detail in the preparation of the food was evident, and the flavors were perfectly balanced.
We highly recommend trying the Cheese Fondue and Mushrooms Al Forno – it was a true culinary delight. The portion sizes were generous, and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service we received.
Overall, our anniversary dinner at ASK Italian was an unforgettable experience. The combination of excellent service, delectable food, and the personal touch from Lumi made it a truly memorable evening. We are already looking forward to our next visit and will definitely be recommending ASK Italian to our friends and family.

Visited with our 2 children. We were made to feel very welcome. The children enjoyed having a complimentary 'shot' with us 😊. Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The building is beautiful and unique. We would highly recommend ASK.
Beautiful building, just not what you expect from an Ask italian at all so we love booking here when we come to York, brilliant that they are on tastecard so you can get 2-4-1 on starters, Mains and deserts, staff are good and attentive and food comes out quickly along with being really nice
This place has the wow effect for sure, if you’ll wait to get seated, you have things to stare at while waiting ahaha. The food was very tasty and the staff very prompt and kind. Recommend if you are in York 🤍

Lady with short hair on front desk is absolutely wonderful, so welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious. The lighting was not great making reading the menus quite difficult... ended up using torch on phone or little fake candle on table to read!
Atmosphere is beautiful and service is really good. The pasta’s sauce is rich tomatos but the pasta is too over cooked.

The food was absolutely lovely ,the building is very impressive but i probably wouldn't have written a review for that alone as you go out and expect good food that is the point of leaving your own kitchen.
The reason I'm leaving this review is the service. We were served by a young man that I think was called Harley and he was fantastic.
Nothing was too much trouble, he made us laugh, he obviously has so much passion for his job as he talked us through most of the dishes on the menu.
Harley is an absolute asset to your restaurant. You should be very proud.

Place is lovely, my girlfriend and I came for our 4 year anniversary today, we came at 5 o’clock so we missed the dinner time rush (perfect time to go), we got served by Ed and Dawn, both lovely people, who made our experiences worthwhile.
Highly recommend we had a full 3 course. Food was lovely, so was the atmosphere and the overall experience!
Visited the York restaurant yesterday evening. The building is beautiful and the food was delicious, many thanks to the kitchen staff. We had a great evening and our waiter Harley was so helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu, even giving us the background of where some of the ingredients in the dishes come from. Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent service. Our waitress was great. As a group of 11 had booked in advance, they put us in a lovely place surrounding the decorative. Beautiful building, a great place to take pictures! The staffs are extremely friendly and communicate directly with us by using gestures. After all, we are all deaf. We had a great time here and definitely will come back here again.
The foods are delicious and fresh.

Lovely meal at this branch of ASK, food was great and it’s a lovely interior. Service was excellent, special mentions to Dawn who greeted us and was super friendly and cheerful, and Georgia our waitress who was excellent, definitely recommend this restaurant
