Absolutely stunning venue, when you walk in it smells beautiful. A really ambient atmosphere and the staff are lovely. We had fish and chips and fillet steak with mushroom starter and meatball starter. I can’t explain how divine the flavours were. So much effort has been put into every part of this place. Worth every penny.
Stumbled across this restuarant whilst looking for a place to eat and was pleasantly surprised. The decor inside was very good and the food was amazing. I opted for a burger with pulled pork which was possibly the best burger I have ever had. The burgers all have double patties and are cooked to perfection. I was tempted to return the next day to try the ribs as they too looked very good. The portion sizes were reasonable (side of onion rings could be shared easily). For approximately £30 each we got 2x mains, 2x alcoholic drinks, a starter and water for the table which wasn't bad at all
Had a meal on Saturday July 29July 2023. Love this restaurant, as always we had the flat iron steak. Good value for money , we shared sides,had Mac n cheese, broccoli, salad,onion rings and my favourite the creamy mash potato. The ambience is fabulous, the staff are fantastic,especially Abbie, the perfect waitress. Will definitely be back . 5 stars .
Really nice place with very attentive service. I had a pork belly main dish with a veggie salad. The meat was a bit dry for my test, still delicious.
Visited on a Saturday evening after seeing some pictures of the cocktaiks online. Originally we were sat on a table directly adjacent to the kitchen which wasn't great as there was a constant stream of staff passing close by and it was far too hot and noisy, after asking to move they sat us on a nice table elsewhere. The flat iron steaks seemed to be popular, looked great and were well priced. Our waiter explained what a flat iron was as we werent sure, he was really friendly and knowledgable. We went for fillet steaks which came quickly and were cooked as requested. The peppercorn sauce was fantastic and the tenderstem broccolli was delicious. They do steins of beer and the cocktails were great. Menu had good variety. Was impressed with the service. Would return- would maybe try the flat iron next time as I've had similar quality fillets and paid less but it was delicious.
Some of the fastest and most attentive service we’ve experienced at a restaurant. The food was also to die for. Probably the best fillet steak I’ve had. The chicken burger was full of flavour too. Cocktails delicious and fun. 10/10 the best restaurant experience we’ve had in York.
What a great visit this evening 😀 Amazing service from our waiter Jules. He was so attentive making sure I was catered to with my allergy and just so friendly. The food was great, well worth every penny. It was a family birthday and he went out of his way to make my mum feel special which was lovely. Will definitely be back again. Lovely place for dinner. Great decor and atmosphere. Food was good we only ordered starters but had a couple. Drinks were really nice and staff were friendly.
Friendly, attentive service, great atmosphere, amazing food and cocktails, definitely a place to visit if you’re in York. Had the beef tartare for starters and the 10oz flat iron steak with dauphinoise potatoes for mains, everything was delicious.
Good quality food. We ordered burgers, which were expensive but the quality was excellent. I would have liked a single patty burger option (they're all 2), not least because you can't eat it like a burger, it's so big! Service was OK, but we were initially charged too much for our child meal and had to get the bill altered. Special mention for the vanilla ice cream, which was particularly good.
Couldn't of had a better evening, food was of the highest quality and restaurant is lovely, modern, spacious with the ability to see chefs preparing your food. Highlight of our evening was our waitress Freya. Attentive, polite and really couldn't do enough for us very good at her job. Only downside £20.91 service charge which they did remove once asked. Would happily paid a service charge if reasonable but in today's climate we felt that to be excessive.

Steaks had good flavour and we're cooked perfectly. The chimmchurri sauce was delicious and the sides were all nice but small portions.
Jamal and Elise the staff looked after us very well they were so helpful and welcoming. This went a long way for us!!! This need a praise.

OMG! Hands down the best meal my partner and I have ever had! And we are fatties, we've eaten at a lot of places!!! We will be coming back to York, just to come here again!!
A lovely atmosphere and the staff are very pleasant and the service is spot on. The food is brilliant and very quick to come too your table. And it is not too expensive so if you would like some food while visiting York call in you will not be disappointed 😉
Nice place, with some beats in the background(not too much). Swift and friendly staff. The buffalo chicken wings in spicy version were nothing special. The steak and fish n chips made up for it.
Flat iron steak was beautiful, had stein of beer to go with it 😂 staff were plentiful and all very attentive. Service fast and the brownie dessert was just the perfect ending

Managed to get a reservation last minute on a Friday. Once we were inside we were asked to wait for our table to be ready which was fine, however, I think they could ask us for our drink order whilst we waited to be seated. We ordered fairly quick. Our waitress was lovely. Food was good. We had the flat steak, we only got one sauce and I’d say there’s plenty for two. We were full by the end! Only other thing I’d say is that the music was a bit repetitive and slightly loud, would be nice to have some variety to it. Decor inside was beautiful too!
Nice restaurant located in the heart of York. Good atmosphere with good food. Great service.
