Lovely welcoming restaurant in a stunning village. The host is very friendly and attentive with all her guests. The food was very nice indeed, I had the soup starter which was lovely and the pork belly main which was stunning, the gravy was the best I'd tasted! Maybe a menu clearly stating starters
Called for a drink whilst the ladies in our lives visited the nearby Yorkshire Lavender attraction.
Sat outside and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Ordered at the bar but drinks served to out outside table.

Stopped by for a drink and we were very impressed with the new look. We are planning on booking a table for a meal soon and I'm expecting to give a 5 star review. The staff today were very pleasant and loved having our puppy and 2 girls in the bar.
Steak and lamb main courses were beautiful, as good as we have had for a long time. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and we had a lovely evening. 4 stars rather than 5 because the vegetarian main and the starters just felt over prices for what they were, as nice as they were.

A beautiful evening at The Hovingham Inn. The most delightful attentive service and food to die for! What an absolute gem of a place, a lovely calm setting with an ambient decor and the tastiest, most scrumptious food cooked perfectly by their amazing chef. Well worth a visit!
Great dinner at the end of August. The place has been smartened up greatly, the welcome was warm and the food really well cooked - not a huge menu but a sophisticated take on pub food at very fair prices
Lindsey is a wonderful host and has certainly fulfilled covid19 secure conditions and more. Richard's food is fabulous as usual we had a delicious Sunday Lunch with a Bakewell Tart which is my new favourite. Just wished we lived closer.
Superb, friendly service in comfortable surroundings. The food was superb, with my wife saying it was the best cooked steak she had ever had. Very reasonable pricing too.
