Nice little fish restaurant this. Staff are attentive and efficient. The fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were cooked well. The only complaint was that I wouldn't normally have salad with fish and chips. All in all a good place to eat with family. Parents had the senior option and they were happy with the amount and quality including pudding.

It was a good meal. Service was a little slow but it was a Monday night. The chicken nuggets were very good and the chips were delicious. I had the poached salmon so it was a good evening. I would like to try their fish and chips as a number of people came for their take away menu. Overall a good place to stop on the way between York and Stockton. Easy access and good parking.

We tend to use this for takeaway although the restaurant is good too. Usually clean with friendly staff and as it's fish and chips it's reasonably speedy to your table. The takeaway is great, surprisingly cheap compared to some and good quality. Always served in boxes which is a plus and always tastes fresh, not been sat waiting to be night all day. My only gripes are the waiting area is far too small and I prefer Chinese style curry sauce and they only do the traditional sweet variety.

Came in this evening with my partner and two children, the place is absolutely stunning and so clean!!!!!! I gave Adams bistro 4* because I thought our food fish and chips, scampi and fish for the children was lovely, the chips weren't greasy and the kids meal included a drink and ice-cream ,and it wasn't just any old ice cream it had a wafer, sprinkles and sauce too!!! The lady who served us sadly didn't get her name! was amazing too really friendly, good laugh, interacted with the children and her customer service skills were nothing short off she couldn't do anymore for you! The place is immaculate, and we personally were not offended by the music, it just added more personality to the place! The only shock I had was coca cola at £3.50 and that was our only complaint, The toilets were also remarkably clean well kept. Great work guys see you again

Went here today on my driving break from delivering in York. Best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. The fish was meaty with a light batter and cooked to perfection usually I have to leave half the batter or all of it as it's too over cooked and too much of it. The chips are the 2nd best I've had apart from thrice cooked I've had in the past and the curry sauce wasn't like the cheap shop bought you just add water too no problems at all and next time I'm up that way I'll be going again. Highly recommend and I expect that the wage review on here is another fish shop competitor it's quite sad.

Visited 7/8/18 This is a lovely relaxed place to dine. The waitresses were very attentive and pleasant. We had the haddock and chips, very tasty, dessert was plentiful and the best cookie ice cream I've ever had. Definitely recommend.

Fantastic. Lovely interior. Food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Ordered scampi, which came with chips, side salad and homemade tartar sauce. Salad was fresh with a drizzle of dressing. Staff were very pleasant and professional. A great experience.

Haddock & chips with mushy peas, arrived pretty quickly and was delicious. Staff were very friendly and polite. This place looks newly refurbished, everything looks new. A nice place to eat...and in the words of Arnie...I'll be back!

Stopped off for some tea after a day in York. Plenty of parking. Attentive staff. Bright modern, well maintained establishment. Best bit, the cod & chips + mushy peas. We ate in, but takeaway available too.

Taken there by a friend I was visiting, in York and he was right. It's a great place for Fish & Chips. Hot fresh and plenty of it. Service was friendly and chatty, I have a dietary problem that we spoke about , the poor girl was most apologetic, (not her fault).

What a lovely meal we had! Lovely and clean. The young girl who brought the food was lovely. My only comment is that I felt cold and had to get my jacket from the car. Would definetly recommend.

Have just visited Harper's Bistro. Staff were friendly and helpful. I thought it best to book as, sometimes as a wheelchair user, restaurants whilst doing their best, 'squeeze' you in 'somewhere' due the size of the premises! Not here. Tables are easy to negotiate around - if memory serves, the previous occupants of this building were a kitchen company - we stay at Tollerton Caravan Park for 2 weeks in September from Scotland! The food - we had the Famous Cod - was EXCELLENT! There was a 'special' on when we visited - a Tuesday evening before 6pm, so my wife and I ordered one with chips and the other with salad which had a honey & mustard dressing on it and we swapped bits of the chips and salad. My wife HATES mustard, but found this (made on the premises I believe) LOVELY & SWEET! The only issue I have is with the price of the Famous Cod dish - £10.95 if not in the deal. I can appreciate that it is cooked fresh to order and there are staff and other overhead costs and there must be a margin for the owner to make a profit! Other than that 'teeny tiny' disappointment at the price, I would STILL recommend Harper's Bistro to anyone visiting the area. Oh almost forgot. It's next to Brookes petrol station on the A19 just north of Shipton By Benningborough!
