I visited this fish shop in New Earswick because our usual shop in Huntington was closed due to holidays. It is a well established business offering the usual fish shop fare. There is a small eating area inside suitable for about 12 & a table outside for 2. At the time there were 5 men sat awaiting their orders, which is the usual routine nowadays of shops only cooking when a choice has been made & paid for. Due to earlier orders mine for cod & chips to go, took about 15 mins before being well wrapped in white paper. They were a good size & delicious.

After working around the UK this is by far one of the best fish and chip shops we’ve had/found. Friendly service. Everything perfectly cooked and batter was the best I’ve tasted. 😊

I cannot fault this establishment. We visited on a Friday lunchtime when pupils from the local school were very much in evidence. That being the case, the staff were excellent and although the queue was long, they got through the orders quickly. The food was well cooked and still warm when we got home. It was also high quality. This has to be the second best chip shop in the York area after Osbaldwick.

Great fish and chip shop. Fish is amazing as are the chips but the best thing here is the Irish curry. The staff are really friendly and always have time for a chat.
Excellent fish chips, whether with peas, curry, or gravy, not forgetting the salt and vinegar if reqd. Well known establishment, along with the well known owner.
Service is impeccable and also given with a smile and a bit of craic and banter.
