Dawnay Arms - York - Photo album

Lovely pub, dog friendly. Very good non-alcoholic drink options. My partner had the pork belly which he said was amazing, but my vegetarian toad in the hole was barely edible which is why I've given it 4 instead of 5 stars.
Really lovely place that you can moor upto on your boat too! Beer garden is just perfect and inside is lovely aswell. Food is delicious 😋
Came across The Dawnay Arms whilst visiting the area. Staff were very friendly, professional and accommodating. The atmosphere was warm and cozy. Lunch was wonderful. Best mushroom soup I have had. The seafood pancakes were delicious. My husband had the ploughman’s. A lovely selection of meat a
Amazing food, great service, visited with family on new years day and it was busy but we had a relaxing lunch. My 1yr old loved the risotto, the kids portion of fish and chips was huge but my 5yr had a good go at it and I had a fab venison pie.
Very cozy pub with delicious food and the view on the terrace is simply amazing!
Enjoyed a family lunch at the Dawnay Arms on Saturday afternoon. It was reasonably busy for a weekend lunch time, so we were seated in the dining room area. Between us we chose haddock & chips, chicken, ham & leek pie and a sandwich with fries. Everything came together, the food was delicious, fresh
Excellent food again. Good beer and pleasant staff. Special of venison and the prawns were particularly good.
Wow! Saw the signs on the way to Scarborough and thought we'd call in for food. So glad we did. Lovely homely pub. Friendly service and delicious home made food. Can't fault this place and will be our go to when in the area.
Just passing and decided to call in. Just about to order food when the electricity failed. The chef came to apologise personally, however 2 minutes later back on! My husband had the burger from the specials board, steak, bacon, black pudding and blue cheese. He hates fat and luckily there was none
Lovely pub, the atmosphere was really nice, we visited a few days before Christmas so the place looked very festive. I had a venison dish from the special board, it was fantastic, but on the small side for me, if I had 3 courses I'm sure the main course would have been a good size, but it was £24 fo
Lovely place to eat and refresh while visiting Beningbrough Hall. The surrounding villages are wonderful 😊
Fantastic meal in classic pub setting. The seafood macaroni starter was particularly good. Fish n chips a bit too greasy for my liking! The restaurant room is an airy open space with lots of natural light - much nicer to eat there than the pub if you’re going for a meal. The pub is great, it’s war
Very tasty food. Would certainly recommend and call again. Not far from Benningborough Hall so a great place to pop if your hungry after a day out. Might be worth calling ahead to book a table.
100% satisfaction. Best dinner I've had in a decade, hands down. Pricey but totally worth it. Edit: a year on, and I'm back again. Still the best sticky toffee pudding in Yorkshire hands down. If they keep making food this good, I'll keep coming.
Had a great lunch here with the family. Food was excellent and the service from the young lady looking after us was warm friendly and helpful. One of our 'go to' places for a great dog friendly meal out.
We had no reservations early evening. Our meal was absolutely beautiful. Starter amazing dessert fantastic but the Star of the show was our main best thing I've tasted in years.
We had a delicious dinner here on a Saturday evening and we were also welcomed with our dog. ❤️ The atmosphere, service and music were also amazing!
Had a wonderful Sunday lunch with our Californian friends Denise & Peter loved it everything was perfect.
