Fabulous food & fabulous service by fabulous people
The pancakes today were delicious, even my husband who says he doesn't like pancakes cleared his plate!
We used Bedern Hall as our wedding venue for our small, intimate wedding this year. It was a beautiful place to get married and throughout the organising of the wedding, Elly (Hall Manager) was very responsive and accommodating. I absolutely love that Bedern Hall is such a hidden gem in the centre of York, just a few minutes' walk around the corner from the Minster.
Thank you so much Bedern Hall, you made our wedding a day to remember.
Great place delightful afternoon tea served by very friendly staff
Had great catch up over afternoon tea with a glass of prosecco. On offer with Travelzoo £25 for 2 people. Everything homemade. Delicious. Tried a lavender scone. Would definitely return.
We enjoyed an exceptional afternoon tea in this beautiful setting, the lady that served us was so attentive and her baking was first class. The young lady that showed us round the hall was full of knowledge regarding its history, very interesting. It is a little treasure hidden in the old streets of York.
Nice wedding venue for my sisters wedding. Kitchen possibly a little small for any more than the guests we had (50ish).
Would have been nice to have the bar open before the ceremony as it was 20degrees outside with no refreshments in the immediate vicinity.
Also, I understand that music can't be loud, but placement could possibly have been a little better.
Apart from these things though, it was a good location with privacy from the main hustle and bustle of York, with food catered for all dietary needs
We held a celebration of my father's life at Bedern Hall. The venue is absolutely beautiful and the staff so accommodating and kind, nothing was too much trouble.
50 people enjoyed a wonderful afternoon tea, accompanied by some lovely home baked cakes in the historic hall.
Cannot recommend more highly, thank you for your help in making the day so special.
What a lovely little historic gem, quietly tucked away and beautifully kept! We had a little while with Morgan (Visitor and Volunteer Officer) when we first arrived and she brought Bedern Hall’s history to life for us as she chatted to us. The sun was streaming through everywhere and the waitress was so welcoming and moved us to the window table as soon as she could so that we could enjoy the view of the “borrowed” garden and its inhabitants (torty and white cat and a robin) and blossom/flowers/greenery - it was like being in a treehouse. The afternoon tea was delicious (we’re definitely lavender scone converts now!) and our waitress was always checking we were ok and kept the hot tea coming! It couldn’t have been a more pleasant way to celebrate my husband’s 76th!!!!
Lovely gem buried in the heart of York, great for small groups but only small groups.
Went for belated Ruby wedding gift of afternoon tea. Wonderful service, food and history.
Small building one main hall with attached cafe.
