Good place but shame about the price of the beef stew for a small portion - would have tasted better at 6.95 rather than 2 quid more! Nice quality though; very busy with mums and young kids, but it depends on time you go I suppose. Overall, good but would prefer more genuine and better value.

Lovely vegan blueberry croissant and oat latte. It can be a long wait here but that’s because it’s so popular! The coffee was nice, the view across the park is great too. There’s indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of books. We went after the York City race and many others had the same idea.

Park cafes have a bad reputation, but this one is done well and has a bit of flair. We stopped by for a cold drink and it was a busy little place for 11am. Tables can be booked and reserved which is a first for a park food place.

What a great little find. We found this place after a brisk stroll in the park and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Friendly service, great atmosphere, yummy coffee and the best bit was that we had to wait 10 minutes for the scones to finish baking! Delicious!

Honestly? It felt like sitting and lunching in Ellesmèra! Nature, good food and books (not necessarily in that order)... What more could a nature-loving, foodie nerd ask for? Not pricey. Indoor and outdoor seating options. Lots and lots of books of every genre on the shelves. Free wifi. Go alone or with company. I believe membership for borrowing and contributing books also available. I will certainly be returning here again and again and again. For as long as I will be living in York.

Lovely little cafe and local hub for reading etc. Nice food a little little different to the norm. Friendly staff, book's to borrow and selection of toys for little one's to play with in the cafe. Great meeting place and nice park.

Calm and warm welcoming café in Rowntree Park. Surrounded by lovely nature, and also very kind staff. We've enjoyed our coffee and stunning cookie. Best café to relax your mind and have a little break from everything.

It’s quiet, serves decent food and a good selection of teas. Slightly on the pricey side, but I’ll forgive that for the fact that no music is playing.

Great view over the park, lovely looking food and friendly staff. My cappuccino was to my liking. The cafe is also a mini library which is a fantastic idea.

After a lovely winter walk around Rowntree Park, what better than to warm up with a coffee and cake? This is a lovely homely cafe and reading space. Always busy, sometimes seats aren't available, but thats not so bad as you can get drinks and food to go and eat at one of the many spots in the park. The coffee is delicious, the cakes great, and my fave, the sausage rolls are lovely. Service is professional and always very pleasant, even when busy. There's always a good selection of pastries, cakes and sandwiches, as well as other foods. You can sit inside and out on the terrace. It's wheelchair accessible as there is a service ramp so it's open to all. When we go to the park, we don't always use the cafe. However, for a warm drink and a sit down in winter, or a cool drink and ice-cream in summer, it's a winner all year around. Update January 2023: Still a great place to grab a coffee and get a warm through!

Always a good place to visit to sit on the balcony overlooking the park and lake whilst having a cuppa or something to eat. As well as the flight of stairs there's a handy track to the rear if using a pushchair, mobility scooter etc.
