Stayed here for the second time. We stayed in a standard room last time and suite this time. Both rooms were well decorated, comfy and had great tea and coffee facilities. Both times we booked a room and dinner offer which are great value. Food here is beautiful!! Service is top notch. Will not hesitate to come back again. Only comment was the crystal suite we stayed in was in the attic space and it was quite hot in the room in early May (about 23 degrees in the room), so a fan would have been handy. Room was stunning though and shower and bath was amazing!

A luxurious oasis near the city centre. Lovely rooms, quiet corners with sofas in the bar, a peaceful courtyard and cinemas and culture and a train station within walking distance. Excellent hotel. Oh great breakfast and happy staff too!

We had our wedding here and it was perfect! If you’re looking for an intimate wedding day look no further. We had 40 day guests and 80 evenings guests. The whole process was wonderful. The night before myself bridesmaids and I stayed over in their fantastic classic and deluxe rooms, and the night of the wedding my new husband and I loved the honeymoon suite. Abi in the events team was amazing and couldn’t have been more helpful, and all the staff on our special day were great. Fantastic food, including food tasting before the events, great selection of drinks which our guests definitely made the most of, and a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you!

Lovely room, dinner and breakfast were both very good. I never usually have dinner in a hotel, but this was worth it. The breakfast was also superb, the ladies in the restaurant were very pleasant and helpful. Good location for both the town and the station. Definitely recommended.

Lovely location, quiet but close to centre. We had a Glorious Getaway deal which was great value. Gorgeous room and excellent food. We would definitely recommend and return! Only issues in room were leaking sink and lacklustre shower. Breakfast was a little disappointing as some items ran out and were not replenished. We mentioned these issues at checkout but no real response. Dus not spoil the visit though, we loved it and will come back soon!

We stayed in the very newly refurbished 'Schloss' room, and loved it. Very tastefully designed, plenty of space and luxurious touches, it was lovely. The only (minor) criticism was the shortage of sockets in sensible places, but that is easy to rectify. We can't comment on the food as we didn't eat there but the reception and bar staff were all great. Loved the idea of the optional voucher in exchange for omitting room servicing. Many hotels pay lip service to this concept ('leave towels in the bath if you want them replaced' etc) but this is the first establishment we have visited which has put their money where their mouth is. A nice cocktail each for using towels for two days, an easy choice for us 🙂 Would we return? Definitely!

As a North Yorkshire wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of capturing a small intimate wedding at Hotel Du Vin in York, and I am thrilled to share what a wonderful experience it was. Hotel Du Vin is undoubtedly a hidden gem for those seeking an intimate and charming wedding venue. The ambiance exudes sophistication, creating the perfect setting for couples looking to celebrate their love in a more private and personal way. The blend of historic charm and modern elegance at this venue sets it apart, providing a unique backdrop for capturing the essence of a couple's special day. The staff at Hotel Du Vin were not only professional but also exceptionally attentive to the needs of the wedding party and vendors. From the initial planning stages to the execution of the event, the team demonstrated a commitment to excellence that greatly contributed to the seamless flow of the day. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond truly made the wedding day stress-free and enjoyable for everyone involved. One of the standout features of Hotel Du Vin for me, as a photographer, was the versatility of the spaces available. The intimate courtyard, with its charming ambiance, served as a beautiful ceremony location, while the unique interiors provided a variety of settings for capturing candid moments and artistic shots. The natural light filtering through the large windows added a warm and romantic touch to the photographs. In conclusion, Hotel Du Vin in York is a five-star choice for couples seeking an intimate and picturesque setting for their wedding. The combination of its unique ambiance, attentive staff, and culinary excellence make it a standout venue in North Yorkshire. I am genuinely looking forward to the opportunity to capture more beautiful moments at Hotel Du Vin and highly recommend it to couples looking for a special and intimate wedding experience.

I have returned home after attending a wonderful wedding at this lovely hotel. Sarah and her team were wonderful and I can't thank her enough. Nothing was any trouble. The venue layout was perfect and the staff went over and above to make this day perfect. Thank you so much.

We just had a lovely Sunday lunch today - Christmas Eve - and the service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant and the service was fast. Food was delicious - and all of this at a time when they had multitudes of hotel guests arriving for Christmas. Our family loves coming here as there is ample easy parking and we always have a lovely time in this beautiful hotel.

Fantastic hotel to stay at while travelling on business. The room was spacious and exceptionally clean, all the staff I encountered were lovely and professional, especially the rather classy and elegant manager / supervisor lady. The food was extremely high quality in a really lovely eating area / atmosphere. The best option for York business travel.
