An absolutely brilliant place! Customer service is very important to them and it shows, nothing is too much trouble. We held an event here and the owners couldn't do enough for us. We had several options for the bar, they wanted us to have the best solution that suited us. The staff on the evening were extremely attentive, discreet and helpful and our guests all commented on how lovely it was. The cafe itself is so calm and chilled, music playing in the background, great art work, lovely seating area, you can browse through the record collection and pick any to play! We really can't recommend it enough and on top of that they do the best grilled cheese in York!

Went in the other day and half the tables were took up with some old records that were just lying around like anyone was supposed to be able to look at them if they want. Also they were even playing what I think is called an LP when can't they just have on minster fm/munford&sons or something? And hasn't anyone told them that coffee is supposed to cost like four pound if it's any good like nexpressos or whatever? And when I got a drink they just said I'll get that for you and thank you and never even asked what my name was or rote it on the cup so what is wrong with this place?

Great place a little way up Micklegate (before you have to climb the hill!) Plenty of space for me to sit, eat and drink while my other half browses for records. Nice selection of drinks and yummy things, I'll definitely be back as I've heard great things about the toasties, and there's even a vegan one!

Excellent cafe with a relaxed atmosphere and friendly service - great coffee too (as well as lots of vinyl of course!). Occasional live music events add to the attraction of the place - a great venue and I hope they'll do many more!

Even before it has opened its doors on a regular basis this newest edition to York's independent businesses looks set to succeed - that authentic coffee smell is alluring and the decor welcoming.

Firstly the quality of the vinyl and frame was fantastic. So happy with my purchase. What a lovely way to keep our favourite album forever. Prices are exceptionally reasonable for the brilliant quality and great service. Absolutely definitely can't recommend enough!!

Fantastic place to visit, loved the interesting music related decor and whole atmosphere of the cafe. We attended a music bingo night and had a fun time. The owners were great hosts and had put on a fab event. There is a good selection of drinks available, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I would also highly recommend the grilled cheese sandwiches. We had the all-day breakfast and smokestack lighting sandwiches, and they were delicious.

A unique cafe/brunch place with plenty of charm and some great toasties. The atmosphere here is unique! Nothing quite like it, lots of memorabilia and art around the walls. Service is friendly. Food is great. Really great toasties - perfect for a brunch or late lunch to keep you going.

Loved the Sauerkraut Rock toastie 😋 wife enjoyed the espresso martini too, a great licenced cheese toastie based cafe. Great atmosphere, staff good, interesting music theme photos, prints and posters, small vinyl collection too. Nice cafe bar

So you’re in York and your train is not for a little while? Walk on over here if it’s open. Have a beer or a coffee, listen to some tunes, chat with the friendly owner. It’s clear they made this place out of their love of music. Recommend it.

Veggie options but not much if you’re totally vegan. It’s cool though - we only came in for coffee which was great. 💕

Brilliantly quirky music cafe with plenty of memorabilia on display. Sells vinyls too. We didn't try any good, but the menu looked good. We did sample some of the local beers which were excellent. If you are in York this is well worth a visit.

A warm welcome from friendly staff. The food was great, just what I needed for a fast lunch with a colleague. Decor was rustic with a music theme. The soundtrack for our lunch was good, not too loud, just right. Night time may be different. I will definitely put it to the top of my lunch destinations.

We stumbled into this wonderfully creative, welcoming and fun establishment in the middle of a game of musical bingo. What an absolute delight. A gem in every way. Thank you for the music, the Prosecco and the fun! We will return next time we are in York, in fact we would visit York again in order to visit you. Everywhere should have one of you.

I went here for brunch it has a lovely environment and friendly staff. I'm a vegetarian and ordered a Mexican fender which was a perfect size and an iced green matcha. The only downside was partly my own fault because I am lactose intolerant and did not realise there was cheese in the sandwich.
