Excellent restaurant on all counts! We ordered sweet and sour chicken and chicken curry both with egg-fried rice. We also had samosas as a starter. Ambience and customer service were great. Would thoroughly recommend!
Beautiful. Arguably the best Chinese meal I have ever eaten in my life. We visited every night of our stay in York simply due to how large the menu is, and how fantastic the food was. Genuinely a must visit
This place was amazing! Highlight of food for me and my boyfriend in York!!!
We had the salt and pepper chicken wings for a starter, crispy shredded beef in Cantonese sauce and beef mince and lettuce rice. Bloody gorgeous!!! Portions was massive. Service was fast and efficient. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal! When we come back to York we will definitely be coming back here!
100/10!
Red Chilli's exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious, with each dish bursting with authentic flavours. The service was prompt and friendly, and the ambience was cosy. Whether you're a fan of classic Chinese cuisine or looking to try something new, Red Chillies is a must-visit. I can't wait to return!
Always a pleasure going to Red Chilli! There's a great variety to choose from and definitely authentic.
Think the layout of the restaurant is great and it's ideal for family and friends gatherings. This will enable you to share more food and get to try out lots of different dishes together. It can be very intimate too as it has various seating arrangements.
Great food quality and the staff are very friendly and efficient.
The whole experience was beyond expectations. We went a bit early so we almost had the whole restaurant to ourselves. People started trickling in as time went by. We ordered stir-fried mutton (this was recommended by waiter and glad we chose it), duck fried noodles, spicy pig intestines (they were surprisingly very tasty. I am aware that the texture might not be for everyone -I loved it though!) and roast dough with minced pork which was crispy greasy heaven. Unfortunately they did not have the chicken feet which I really wanted to try. As dessert then we had deep fried banana balls which was covered in crispy thin sliced fried potatoes, covered with what tasted like sweet condensed milk (combination was on point!) and sweet glutinous rice balls in rice wine. Staff were very courteous and nice. We will definitely go again!

Quick, speedy food to the table. Tasty and hot. We love this place as the food does not disappoint. Cumin mutton and the chilli oil dishes are glorious.

The ambience of the restaurant is a hundred percent for me. It’s calm, dim light and beautiful (it suit my mood at the particular time). The food is absolutely tasty I didn’t know I’d finish the fish 🤣🤣. The Singapore vermicelli with hams and shrimp 🍤 was okay but I didn’t enjoy it probably because I was too full after the fish and the lemon ice tea. I spent 32.80 GBP for everything.
Food was cooked to perection. You can tell the chefs have pride in what they do in the detail. The Sichuan seafood Ma La dish was 100% authentic, blew my tongue on fire but it was right. enjoyed the meal and the service. well done guys

Really lovely food, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. As with all English restaurants it was less spicy than you would expect of the authentic version, but I suppose they have to cater to local tastes. There were a number of groups of Chinese people eating there, which is always a good sign with a Chinese restaurant.
Some tasty Sichuan food yesterday at Red Chilli in York.
Sizzling beef with bao, pigs trotters & salt & pepper chicken wings.
All very tasty and good portion size.
Although I made the rookie mistake of not asking them to make it with authentic Sichuan strength spice & kick.
It definitely could have been a bit more spicy & numbing.
I’ve found many chinese restaurants tend to tone it down for western looking foodies. (As I guess many can’t handle the heat) I’ve experienced this in a few places now.
Anyhow a good meal overall and efficient customer service.
Super helpful and friendly staff with almost unbelievably fast service. Food was very fresh and tasty. Nicely topped off by a cool modern decor and reasonably priced glasses of wine. Great authentic Chinese experience in York
Amazing authentic food in the heart of York.
I've eaten here a few times and never been disappointed. The portions are generous and tasty, and the service excellent.
The setting is really unique, with a strong contemporary style mixed with traditional Chinese culture.
Always love coming here for the dinnertime menu, value and quality is best you'll find in York.
Well work giving it a try between the hours of midday and 3pm.
I ordered chicken and sweetcorn soup, salt and pepper ribs and crispy shredded beefing in Cantonese sauce with egg fried rice can't go wrong at all for only £14.
They don't cut corners on quality, taste or portion size more than enough for 1 person.
Highly recommend this place only confusion is on window out side it says midday til 3pm and on the menu it's says til 2pm.
Absolutely amazing authentic Chinese food!
We were so impressed by this place we would be happy to drive back (1.5hr round trip)!
Highly recommended this place!

Has to be the best Chinese in York!! Service quick, professional, friendly and helpful. Food can't fault it! Portions huge!!!! It's a shame we live so far away. Next time we are in York we will definitely go again. Highly recommended
This place is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely amazing. Selection of food and drinks is huge. Would definitely visit again.
Really lovely food and very pleasant staff - even though we just walked in on the off-chance we'd get a table. The set menu had plenty of choice and was really well cooked. The duck and pancakes were gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
