Deli, beers, ciders, wines and a cafe! First time we have come across this place and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We plan to be back. Accessibility - part of the car park is close to the entrance, a bit muddy in places. Entrance, manual door, level entrance. Moderately wide aisles. Toilet for disabled via a corridor, 90 degree left turn. Car Park - free, near the entrance, not marked out, overflow further on. Cafe - breakfasts (from 8am), lunch up to 3pm, then drinks and cakes. Booking for lunch advised. Pricing - medium to expensive depending on what you buy, quality items. Staff - friendly and helpful. Toilet - men's, ladies and toilet for disabled with baby change through the store near the cafe.

I visited for the second time in a couple of weeks and was noticed by one of the staff who gave me a lovely welcome. The first time I acquired some of the high class Sam Smith Chocolate Stout for my darling for Valentine's, it was gleefully received. The second time I treat myself to a nice bottle of Chateau de Montifaud XO Silver. I also had a pork pie and we have a nice looking pear and frangipane tart for afters this evening. The choice of wines and Scotch is very impressive and extensive. There were good port and cognac choices as well. This is really worth a stop off if you are on the A64. Great staff, great products, what's not to like!

Our first visit and definitely won’t be the last. Currently enjoying a gorgeous glass of red wine recommended by the lovely gentleman who answered a question from a novice, a very nice lady behind the cheese counter and the dark haired lady who pointed us in the right direction for what we needed.

We had the pleasure of coming across this beautiful store. After turning off the A road and there it was. We didn't have anything particular in mind but Michelle greeted us with such warmth we instantly felt in paradise with all round the world of wine, whisky and amazing spirits. Preserves, pies, salads and the most delicious breads enchanted our eyes. Needless to say we came out with our arms full and we will be back soon. Sensational place. Must be visited.

Good selection of wines the only place to get some of the best whisky, the cafe is lovely and would recommend a look , but can get busy at lunchtime , so maybe a good idea to book .

Ignore Matt Perry, he is a persistent bad reviewer who isn't happy until he is moaning. Excellent choice will come again

I go to Field and Fawcett because I know they'll have the things I can't get anywhere else and they're a great bunch of people with a lot of knowledge.

It's all about the whisky for me, we are short of good whisky choice where i live. Worth driving for an hour to browse the excellent display and pick up a couple of bottles like I have done a couple of times. Staff are always friendly in store, on the telephone and they're very responsive via email.

This is my 'go to' place for wine. They have such an excellent variety and the owners are incredibly helpful. They also have a great knowledge of wine, making it easy to pick the best wine for the right occasion. They can also source wine from your favourite vineyards. Popped in this evening and also tried some of the food they have on offer. Exceptional! The people of York are lucky to have this on their doorstep. Thank you.

Nice food (lighter-style bites really); decent-enough environment, and good service. I had the egg and mushroom brioche and hand cut chips, both of which were excellent. The shop looks even better than the cafe, with a broad selection of farm / deli products and alcoholic treats. Worth a visit.

We visited The Field & Fawcett today, the 27th of September (2019). Wow, what a great place. There is a small Deli, selling cheeses, bread, pies etc. Further into the shop there is a massive selection of wines and whiskey, a little pricey, but my goodness what a selection. Then there is the cafe/restaurant. The food is outstanding, well presented, tasty and reasonably priced. The two waitresses were very friendly and attentive, one of the waitresses brought a chair out from the cafe and into the wine/ whisky cellar for my 83 year old mother to sit on while a table came free. I thought that was a very kind and thoughtful thing to do. Yes, a lovely place to visit.

Lovely. The cafe is really nice with gorgeous food & great service. The shop has got so much to look at we didn't know where to start looking & the deli has a fab choice of meats & cheeses. We will definitely go back again soon.

I’ve ordered a couple of boxes of wine from this shop. The service and the wine was great but I was really disappointed by the level of plastic packaging used in shipping. It feels totally unnecessary to be using single use plastic packaging to ship wine in 2022. Will no longer shop online with these guys until they find a more sustainable way of packaging their product.

Fantastic deli, wine merchant and cafe. Excellent range and choice, delivered with a warm Yorkshire welcome. Can recommend for gifts, treats, special occasions as well as for knowledgeable advice on the best wine or spirits for your requirements. Breakfast is a must when you have a little more time on hand.

If you like Wine, Whisky or Gin you will love this place, it's has a huge range to choose from and be tempted by as you walk to and from the cafe at the rear of the premises. The staff are great and know what they are talking about, and a cuppa and a sandwich in the cafe are very tasty and reasonably priced. A great pit stop, but you will end up spending more than you originally intended before you went inside. Many of the items they sell in store are also available to purchase on their website and these are extremely well packed and always seem to arrive safely.

What a wonderful meal,we booked a table of 6 for a Xmas get together of friends in the cafe,we experienced excellent table service, and the food for a "Cafe" was of restaurant standard! The burgers were commented to be amongst the tastiest my friends and family had ever tasted, and they've travelled the world! Wine was gorgeous, all in all I would highly recommend Field and Fawcett, and if you love your real ales and spirits, then the well stocked store is heaven!😉

Our go-to place for wines and spirits. Takes the guesswork out of purchasing! Great advice from people who really know their products. Scrumptious deli foods too.

A quiet time to arrive today.. we weren't aware that we had to order our coffees at the till, so thought it was table service. We quietly chatted and waited and waited... until we had to go and ask and then told not table service. No sugar or stirrers were provided with our coffee, which usually is the norm, and as staff had disappeared, I pardoned myself from my friend so I could do a little 'trek around' to find someone to ask. We felt disappointed as being the only ones there, they weren't pulled out with work, we felt totally left without any helpful info as to ordering, or asked if we'd like sugar etc. I'll now leave my comments for hopefully adjustment.
