The food was amazing! Everything we ordered was so tasty and great portions. All the staff were attentive and friendly. I couldn't fault anything. I think I have a new favourite restaurant :)
I like the place cause you can get a seat and food quite quick, I normally like the taste, however I don’t know why the bill come to 27 pounds when I order a lasagna for 15 and a drink at 8 🧐 Do they charge the water? Not sure. Do they charge automatic service charge when service didn’t really deserve it? Not sure
Lovely meal, staff were super helpful and we’ve managed 3 courses whilst the children were settled. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was fantastic.
Great gluten free and vegetarian options. Reasonable prices. NHS Blue light discount and UNiDAYS discount.
Friendly staff. Good service. Only improvement would be the toilets need some attention.

Had an amazing night and was a decent price for what we got.
Went for our lunch in group of two and the place was so buzzing. We just walked in without prior reservation and were seated very quickly.
Ordered a vegetarian penne ala Norma pasta that was served with loads of salad and cheese. And I really loved the taste. The portions were great for one person and it was very filling too :)
I would love to see a wider vegetarian or vegan menu options.
Food was absolutely fantastic and service was great! My partner is coeliac so we are limited to where we can eat together. Server was very nice and checked that all food was totally gluten free and informed us that she had told the kitchen.
Both of us had the prawns to start which were very tasty and a very good portion size!
My partner had a gluten free pizza to which she said is the best she has ever had!
I had the minute steak which was again very tasty and a good portion size.
The server was extremely polite, attentive and in my opinion very good at her job!
We will definitely be returning next time we are in York and I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family that visit often.

The food is delicious with more than ample portions. The Ammerero Sour was delicious. Lucy and Beth were amazing and treated us like royalty on our wedding anniversary. Thank you so much!
A varied menu with an excellent choice of pizzas. Gluten free pizza bases and pastas available. Pizza pictured is a vegetable primavera. Stunning flavours with a really tasty selection of Mediterranean vegetables. 10/10.
We had a large group walk-in at the weekend. Luckily the staff were helpful and we could quickly get the table and settle down. The food were delicious, especially the pasta and risotto, and you cannot miss the brownies. Kids menu is available too! It was a pleasant lunch time at The Wildwood.
Delicious food, everything was freshly made. Even my mum-in-law really loved the food although she usually doesn't eat in restaurants 🙂 I had Cobb salad, I was surprised I got a grilled corn in it not from the tin 😁 Strongly recommend
Faultless. Three of us had three courses and drinks. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked, the cocktails were great, the staff were fantastic. Full marks.

Incredible service, very friendly and very fast. Didn't even have to ask for water for the table which was nice.
Food arrived quickly upon placement of our order, and was delicious.
Would highly recommend the chicken and mushroom penne!
This was our second time to this gem of a restaurant …. Both times we have had lovely meals cooked to perfection , we felt well looked after and not rushed . My wife’s food intolerances were well catered for …. We both can’t wait to return to enjoy the flavours and good service of this restaurant next time we’re in York.

I would like to give this a 5, but the young waiter made a series of errors. My wife, sitting with a walking stick, asked where the disabled toilet is, he replied it's upstairs...or you can go there (just along the downstairs corridor) if it's easier. Well of course it's easier, she's sitting there with a stick and asked for the disabled toilet. Next error was forgetting my wife's order, which only became apparent when the food was brought out to the 6 of us...or 5. However the staff were most apologetic and my wife's meal was free, a nice gesture with it being 15 minutes late. The food was amazing, we all agreed on that. Then the aforementioned waiter brought someone else's meals to us, after we'd eaten, no thank you. Finally there was a serious lack of whisky on offer. I like to finish a meal out with a dram rather than pudding, but no Scotch Whisky or English Whisky, not even the local Yorkshire ones, still enjoyed the Irish one though. So despite the criticism of one member of staff (just needs more training, pleasant enough) and whisky selection, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, and will no doubt return, delicious food and (mostly!) good service, thank you!

We didn't book a table and turned up about quarter to 9 and they very kindly accommodated our party of 4....staff were lovely even spoke to the chef...the food was very good too...would visit again on our return to York
