What a fantastic find 😊. Lovely setting, friendly staff and the most delicious food. The place was full on Saturday night but our food was served quickly by our smiling waitress. We watched the chef turn out plate after plate of piping hot, beautifully presented food. The Inn is full of warmth and character and is obviously popular with locals and visitors alike. Can't wait for another excuse to visit York so that we can pop in again. Thank you

I love this place! Fantastic food and even better atmosphere, the owner is lovely and has a great eye for who she employs, I've never had anyone who didn't give impeccable service. I was in here 2 days before my baby was due (not for the first time) and I was looked after so well. Was back in this week with baby and some friends, once again the staff were amazing. When my in-laws come to visit they have stayed here and had only good things to say. It's my go to place for sure! Highly recommend to anyone. Well done you're making Yorkie history by being awesome.

Just back from a two night stay at this lovely place. Our room was fab, staff amazingly friendly and couldn’t do enough for us (especially the owners twin sister, nothing was ever too much trouble). Food was beautiful. Will definitely go back. Loved it

We came upon this place quite by chance as we were looking for somewhere for breakfast. We could not have been made more welcome amd had a great breakfast. We liked it so much we went back again today. The menu for lunch/dinner looked amazing but we didnt get the chance to try it.

Well what can we say? First time we’ve been here, as soon as we walked in , we felt as if we belonged, we felt we were locals, it is a typical countryside bar but set in a town suburb, atmosphere, decoration, staff friendliness and food! The fillet of steak was the best I’ve ever had and I don’t say that often, chips to die for, the perfect pink gin , moretti on draught, and the ever present tom ,

Such a lovely pub. As someone else said, it is like a country pub on the outskirts of the city of York. So much to look at. Three of us (we had booked a table), Sunday afternoon. 2 x chicken piri piri and one scampi and hand cut chips, all delicious. I finished with a salted caramel & choc cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. I love ice cream and this was one of the creamiest I'd tasted. Tom came and sat next to me for ages. Gorgeous cat, he doesn't pester you for food, which is lucky as he's not allowed it!

Excellent no nonsense cooking with enormous portions! I had the roast beef with a Yorkshire Pudding the size of the plate. My son took the aubergine and courgettes lasagne which was copious too.We shared a very tasty treacle tart with homemade vanilla ice cream and a couple of pints of hand pulled ales.Staff were very friendly and chatty too. Perfect Sunday Lunch.

Located next to a main road into York, it allows easy access to the city centre by bus, which run every 10 minutes or so. Ask for a room at the rear as they're quieter, although the secondary glazing dulls most of the road noise in the front rooms. The service and food are excellent. The full English fills you up for the rest of the day. Footprints to the Riverside for a leisurely 2 mile walk into town are only 50 feet away.

We have stayed in places all over york for at least 40 years,in my opinion this is the best place yet, fabulous rooms with room service,we stayed 4 nights and came back to immaculate room, fresh towels topped up bottled water/tea/coffee biscuits, chatted to service staff nothing to much trouble. Then we get to the food,my, just the most amazing meals possible, ate there every day twice, plus superb breakfast (think a diet may be needed)Bar staff best ever in any pub been in hardly any waiting to be served, proper on the ball watching for people to serve. We Will be going Back

We didn’t stay but went for dinner on a Friday night. Staff were very friendly and our food was very good - lovely pizzas and steak pies. Only down side was the ordering had to be done at the bar, which is generally fine, but a few locals seem to block the whole bar on stools and it was very hard to get there to be served.

Rooms were very comfortable, a few minor issues but nothing to stop us staying again. The food was excellent and the staff are very friendly! Off street parking and on the bus route into the city so no need to use the car. Would Definitely use again.

Stopped here for a quick meal as the traffic down Fulford Road was terrible. Luckily there was one table available so we had some good pub grub at reasonable prices. Once we'd eaten, and the wait for the food wasn't long, we were on our way with much reduced traffic. The place is very rustic so it's not a modern setting and quite basic but hey, that's fine by me. There is parking round the back but we just parked on the street as it was easier with the traffic. Would definitely eat here again.

Very good place to stay if you are visiting your kids at the university of want a few days in York. The food is a bit above average for a pub with some great selections on the specials board. They also have a nice selection of beers. You may need to book on Sundays as it's very busy.

Lovely Old World Hotel / Restaurant and Bar. Comfy and well equipped rooms with great attention to detail. Cosy bar and restaurant with great service, good food and friendly staff. The Hotel is located in Fulford which is a 10 minute hop on the Bus to York Centre. Highly recommended 👍

Had a very nice lunch, quick service reasonable prices. Good choice on the standard menu, but remember to look at the specials board on the wall, lots of extra alternatives to suit all dietary and ethical choices. Was there fir a retirement lunch fir a colleague so didn't stay in the rooms.

Went for lunch here mid-week. Lovely cosy and friendly atmosphere; the tables were full, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. Lots of choice for all on the menu, including many vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. We ordered the mixed grill and the vegan chilli, both generous portions and tasted fantastic. Loved the hand-cut home-made chips!
