Lovely place by the river. Yery well presented inside and very clean. We had Fish cakes which were delicious � and also had cheese platter which was lovely also. Staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend.
Struggled to find a place in York that served food and let our 13 year old in with our Labrador Katie.
Plonkers were amazing. Gave us a seat by the window, water for the dog and quick service for food and drink. Meal was amazing. Kids fish and chips were great value and tasted yummy. Staff were friendly, attentive and a lovely warm welcome.

Excellent place to eat and the atmosphere was great, staff were very accommodating especially as it was my birthday and when we arived that night for our meal they had actually put balloons on our table definitely recommend if your in York :)

GreAt bar. Especially when you go with your girlfriend and order 2 carvery Sunday roast. Normally we would be left wanting for more...but our plates were so well stacked that I was beaten by a remaining portion of the huge st Yorkshire pudding I have ever seen, and my girlfriend was forced to leave some roasties! I would go back again if i was in york and wanted the best sunday roast. Id probably go back again anyway as it is set on the river and a great place for a drink.
What a fab bar , food was sooo good , staff really friendly, nothing was too much trouble , they got our party a birthday ballon and banner , thank you guys , just incase we didn't mention it on the night x, wouldn't hesitate to recommend plonkers X
The food was awesome! We had a chicken and a steak hanging kebab with chips, followed by a huge jam roly poly with custard and chocolate fudge sundae!
A few Kraken dark rums, Tiger beer and white wine & lemonade for the wife... Brilliant night! We only wish we'd registered for the Pub Quiz as we got most of the questions right! �
After an amazing day food was needed and with 2 children a lot of places won't let you in over the weekend but the staff were amazing finding a table for 4 adults, a 7 year old and a 1 year old and everything that comes with them the food was amazing and big portions it was great a must for anyone visiting York
Always a friendly bar, every time I come to the opera house it is a place I put number one on my list, and when there is a break in the event at the opera house I pop back in for a quick pint been many times now and never had a problem and always friendly

A lovely pub near to the river, very close to York Dungeons. The pub is small but friendly staff, there was a warm welcome. Dogs are allowed and water was provided for them. We found a table where the order for drinks was taken. We enjoyed a sharing platter of homemade nibbles and a side of chunky chips between the four of us. There was plenty of food. Prices were reasonable and it cost £42.00 in total for food and drinks for 4 people.
We would visit again.

We had an amazing roast dinner here on a Sunday. Stumbled across this place but so glad we found it. Would definitely recommend!
Had a lovely lunch here today. The staff were really friendly and the chicken salad ciabatta and chips was delicious. It was a gorgeous warm sunny day and sitting outside by the river just topped the lunch off.
Went for lunch today 16-03-24 lovely staff always available,great service and the burritos were amazing.

The do call it a carvery but it's actually plated up and brought to the table.

We went on a Sunday night and they had ran out of a handful of choices for food and drinks as their weekend was busy (no surprise as they're popular!), but still had a good variety. Shout-out to barman Anthony who took care of us when we were there
We sat outside on a Friday afternoon & had some food & drinks.
My partner had the pie & really enjoyed it. I went for the Halloumi skewer & was a little disappointed to find it only had 3 pieces of halloumi for the price. The sweet potato fries was again ok but nothing special. 2 meals & 2 pints of fruit cider came to just over £41 . The food was reasonably prices but over £7 for the pints is a lot.

Really quirky old pub, the food was amazing as was the fast service. The place has a really nice old feel, low ceilings and full of charm and character. Really great prices for both food and drink. Highly recommend.
Came here for a work Christmas meal, food and staff were both amazing! The place is a little small for a big party but it looks great inside. If you don’t mind splitting into smaller tables it would be great. Recommend it for food or drink for a small group.

This is a lovely little pub by the river in York.
Located just opposite the York Opera House it is very central. The food on offer is pretty standard pub food with a good selection of vegetarian options. I absolutely loved the live music here tonight and would absolutely come back again to listen to this duo or similar bands again. The atmosphere was also really nice, vibrant and friendly.
Easy to book for Sunday dinner. Food was ok, meat a bit tough and Yorkshire pud burnt but still enjoyed the meal. Roasties, veg and gravy to die for.
