Great pub. Food is outstanding. Big portions at a good price. They use quality ingredients. The chilli is hot. Really hot. If you can't eat a madras style don't bother. Chips are proper chips. Large ale selection and plenty of keg and real cider.
As it is off the busy city centre is not as busy as other pubs in York. They have a great selection of beers, crafts and stouts.

Pub handily situated between the railway station and city centre. A cracking range of real ales perfectly kept and dispensed by happy knowledgeable bar staff. Great pub. Has a local feel and traditional feel. Great food menu, good, honest home cooked food. Recommend the chilli and chips with added cheese. A healthy heat kick and the portions are large. Sit down and enjoy!
