Really great Sunday mains including vegetation and vegan options.
Good value.
Desserts not great, tasted very off-the-shelf.
Music terrible.
But overall a lovely place to eat, staff nice, old pub atmosphere so certainly justifies the five stars.
We have been in the UK for five days now and have eaten at many restaurants this is the best dinner we've had, probably the best dinner I've ever had at any restaurant overall. I had the Shepherd's Pie and I can't say enough good things about it, I wanted a straw for the brown gravy. My friend had t
we stumbled across this lovely pub and were so pleased with what we found inside. we were seated next to a fantastic open fireplace, and when we got a little too warm the staff were more than happy to move us to a different spot. the food was incredible, and there’s not of vegetarian and diabetic fr
This place was so great I visited twice! The first time for a pint of bitter from the cask to enjoy in their beer garden along the canal on a beautiful day and then the next day for a late meal when the kitchens were closed at all other pubs nearby. Arrived at the pub as part of a family get together with family and relatives over from Australia. We hadn't booked as we didnt know at the time where we were all going to meet up on a busy Friday evening. There were about 16 of us in total. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we were all
Warm welcome with friendly helpful staff.
Plenty of choice on the standard menu and specials board.
Homemade burger, special board beef curry and special board beef cheeks was so tasty, absolutely lovely.
Best homemade pub food I've eaten in a long time.
Would highly recommend and we will definitely
Gorgeous food and really made me feel welcome with my dog. The staff were brilliant with her and brought water and treats over and really made a fuss of her. So rare to get brilliant, pet friendly service AND gorgeous food! Will definitely be back.
Popped in for a pint and ended up staying the evening for dinner. Lovely pub, I would recommend. Large traditional pub meals. Recommend the starter (which could have been a main) Yorkshire Pudding with beef/pork and cauliflower cheese.. Fish and chips were very good. The staff were brilliant an
Was going to local chain pub across the road but it was so busy, noticed masons arms across the road so headed for it. It was 8.25 pm and last orders for food were 8.30pm , decided to ask. How glad was I , brilliant food and friendly bar staff, probably only cost us a tenner more. So my advice forge
Fabulous food and service from this pub. We had the beef cheeks and the salmon, both came promptly and were lovely. Definitely a place to visit away from the madding crowds of the city center.
