After hearing such great things about rice style from my boyfriend in particular, I actually recommended the restaurant to some customers that came into my work. I hadn't even visited myself at that point but knew that I'd be trying it in the foreseeable future as I love Thai food. I finally came for a meal last Friday and it certainly did not disappoint! Being a waitress myself I loved how willing and efficient the staff were. My boyfriend made me aware of the generous portion sizes for the main course so we decided to just share some spring rolls to start. These were gorgeous and I loved the addition of the glass noodles and the sweet chilli dipping sauce. I needed help choosing a main course, to which the waitress advised me so well as my food was amazing. I chose a dish which originally was one of the spiciest on the menu. I like spice but nothing too overpowering so asked for it to be made just slightly milder. When the dish arrived it was perfect. Finally after mains, despite the fact my boyfriend and I were absolutely stuffed, we chose to share a dessert which was presented really well and again was gorgeous. This was one of the best meals out I have had for a really really long time. The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully and accompanied by friendly, great service and beautiful food, the evening was faultless (as well as great value for money!). Thank you so so much for a great night and I'll undoubtedly be visiting again soon to try out the £10 for two courses lunch offer! Thank you so much again.
Highly recommend this Thai restaurant to anyone local in York or visiting the city.
I am not a big fan of Thai food however the starters and the mains me and my partner ordered were delicious, so much flavour and fresh ingredients.
The crispy duck rolls are to die for and would suggest trying the Thai red curry with garlic and ginger rice!
Excellent service, friendly staff, Worth every penny.
The restaurant gets extremely busy on a Friday night so would suggest calling and booking a table before hand.
Thanks for a pleasant visit and we will most certainly be visiting again in the not too distant future.

I went last night ( Aug 18th ) with my mum and dad who live just down on the river and my son . The whole experience was absolutely magnificent ... the restaurant itself lovely and small and very cosy . The staff are friendly and prompt with drinks and orders . The food itself is wonderful ... tasty and flavoursome ... Red Curry / Soft shell crab / Crispy pork belly joint main courses ... amazing . I had no hesitation in awarding Rice Style 5 stars and if anyone doesn't award it 4 or 5 stars they clearly do not understand quality cuisine . My parents who live nearby and spend many months living in Thailand cannot believe this gem is just on their doorstep .

Sawadee kaa! We had a fantastic meal here x Very authentic x Aroi mak mak kaa. The Thai staff were very sweet, attentive, & they indulged every request, as expected. Our friends, who live in Phuket were impressed with the service & the food x � ��� Korp khun kaa, ahaan Thai tee soot kaa! Xxx

We visited on a lunchtime for the 2 course £10 offer. Fantastic service and the staff allowed us to "tweak" our order a little bit to taste. Food was first class and we were particularly impressed with the cleanliness and quality of the toilets. Definitely will return
Very nice! A lovely informal and stylish restaurant with inside and outside seating. Great for lunch or dinner. The food was superb and the staff were lively.

One of my favourite Thai places in York. The food here is absolutely delicious and great as a dine in or takeaway option. The gluten free options are clearly labelled on the menu with quite a few different dishes being gf.
The only thing to note is that when I said I was a coeliac, I was told the gf labelled fish cakes wouldn't be suitable due to cooking methods creating cross contamination. While it is really good that the staff are so well trained in dietary requirements and were able to tell me this clearly to prevent me from getting poorly, it is a shame that something labelled gluten free on the menu wasn't ultimately suitable for coeliacs. They instead advised a different gluten free starter which ended being fantastic.
I cannot put enough stars for this place. I have enjoyed every meal I have had. The curries are cooked to perfection, the spices are so awsome, really good balance, the dishes are always well presented and come with good wines. The staff are lovely too, really caring but not overwhelming, everything in this restaurant is just right. Cosy inside in winter, lovely decking area to enjoy your meal in the summer. Relaxed atmosphere. I strongly recommend!
We visited last weekend as a last minute walk in. We didn't realise it was a Thai at first, I walked past it in the afternoon thinking it was a cafe. Really good service and very friendly staff. Food was very good, spicy and interesting. The soup was especially good. We enjoyed it so much we went again the following evening.
A hidden gem. Being just outside the city walls (but only a 15 minute walk from the railways station) this is perhaps somewhere to seek out rather than come across but chance but it's well worth doing just that. A family run business, they are extremely welcoming and accommodating. But the food here is the real star. Absolutely delicious authentic Thai food. I had the hot and spicy Tom yum soup to start and then chicken in basil, garlic and chilli sauce, both of which were amazing. Very highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love this restaurant. Food is amazing, staff are lovely. It's small and personal, without feeling claustrophobic or noisy.
