We had no reservation for this restaurant but they had a table to accommodate us when we walked in ,we chose the set dinner menu and it was very nice for the price.
The place had a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff were pleasant and courteous.
We will definitely go back.

Great muscles, decent roast, good service. If you feel inebriated walking out from your table it's not you it's the floors, adds to the charm though. Note I had eaten half the muscles by the time I took the photo.

Excellent service. Lovely food and good value - had choices all from the set vegan menu and really appreciated the effort gone to keep these in line with the other menu. Also had a lovely mocktail and impressed with all the vegan desserts choices, will be coming back to try more!

Decided to try 31 Castlegate as it was near our hotel, extremely pleased we did. Beautiful food, we had the set menu 2 courses for £22.95 excellent quality steak. The service was also excellent 👌 really pleased we tried this place 👍🏻
We had the restaurant to ourselves which was surprising and also a shame. The decor is beautiful, the service was great, our meals were well presented and tasty (just way too much potatoes!).

Arrived for an earlier reservation so the place was quiet when we arrived, we were served promptly and the service quality was consistently good with no excessive waits between dishes. The food was delicious and well presented and I would certainly visit again.
