Gorgeous lunch today. Beautiful food, tasty and great selection to cater for a vegan, a gluten-free and others. Main courses really filling but ordered deserts as looked so good and tasted even better!
Daughter ordered waffles but Adam (chef & owner) wasn’t happy with quality so came and spoke to us personally. Outstanding service! Will be back.
I've been here a few different times and I am in love with the place!! I'm a Vegan so really impressed by their options but there is something for everyone whatever your dietary preferences or mood. The staff could not be lovelier. This place is a gem. Great casual welcoming vibe. Highly recommend it X x
Lovely little place with a great Light Bites menu. We had the delicious spiralised potato (like a cross between a chip and a crisp) with sour cream dip, and hummus with olives and pitta. Nachos looked great too. Great independent place and service with a smile.
Incredible vegetarian food. I've never been to a restaurant and had such interesting, delicious veggie things to eat. Can't recommend highly enough. �������������
As a meat eater the 48 hour beef brisket tray was perfection. My friend who is a vegan loved the jackfruit! We both shared some vegan starters and even as a meat eater I truly enjoyed them! Very delicious meal with excellent friendly service :-)
Went on a busy Saturday afternoon, later than we originally planned after booking with a very helpful member of staff, and couldn't fault anything. Good food, enough choices for our party (including one vegetarian, one fussy eater and one who can eat for England), without being overwhelming, attentive but not intrusive staff. Lovely place.

Absolutely beautiful meal - great service, fantastic food (pulled chicken tray was delicious, halloumi side the best I’ve ever had) - plus delicious drink selection - try a large Kraken with Gingerella, you won’t be disappointed! Thanks team for a lovely evening xxx

My husband and I yet again had another fantastic meal here, my husband had the brisket and I had the nachos and both were absolutely delicious! The drinks menu always has a fantastic selection to choose from and the service was very attentive with happy and warm smiley faces. This restaurant is most definitely up there as one of my favourites places of all time to eat and relax over a quality drink.
Fab place, great atmosphere, staff are really attentive, friendly and efficient. Food was superb as was the wine list. Will definitely beback and will be recommending
Excellent food & service, proper food made & cooked with passion, the guy who served us was made for front of house! My wife is a coeliac but that posed no problem, he was very knowledgable in the menu and how dishes were cooked & made, would definitely return & recommend, thanks guys for a lovely lunch!!

Third time having brunch at source, and this is the third time it has been absolutely superb. On top of which the smoothies are lush and the coffee absolutely hits the spot. Will be back again soon � #foodislife
Amazing food & really lovely staff. Went for a lunch with partner and mother in law, happy all round. As well as being completely vegan they've got a great gluten free selection. I had the can salmon, absolutely delicious ❤️

There are loads of options from sweet to savory.
I had the full English which was great and my partner had the French toast, she absolutely loved it and if she wasn't full she would have had it again.
We also had a side of corn bread because she had never had it before, that was lovely too.
Very good experience definitely can't wait to go again.

If like me you want to dine & support local (vegan) businesses then this is the spot! Granted you'd only be able to afford to visit one every so often as if is a tad on the expensive side! Perhaps they'd do well getting more people in the door if they had offers? I was the only person dining at 8pm on a Monday night so the service was super quick! The food was outstanding! The Faux Gras was tasty but could do with some salt/soy sauce to give it a bit more of a salty flavour. The Lobster Bisque & Mac were a combination made in heaven, I haven't had heart of palms made as well as these! Very flavoursome! The sticky toffee pudding wasn't hot enough, it came out slightly warm, I appreciate it's served with ice-cream which they probably don't want it to melt before it gets to the customer but again was very NERY tasty!
Overall a highly recommended place to celebrate a special day, cost-wise not somewhere you'd go for a reasonably priced meal (3 courses with a large house white wine was £36.50)
Visited with the other half and two vegan friends, we all enjoyed our meal! The food was lovely; very flavoursome and good variety. We’ll be back!

Banana blossom fish with a side of chips was gorgeous, and the cookie dough skillet with ice cream was EPIC!
Amazing brunch, it was so nice to have a vegan brunch!! My non vegan partner loved the chicken burger and the chickpea omelette was great. Yummy coffee too! Would definitely go back here.
Yum! What a treat to go to a vegan restaurant where everything is such a high standard. We lucked out and got a space on the terrace in the sunshine and had a lovely time. We really enjoyed our mains and sides (chickpea omelette, banana blossom, slaw and frickles) and we washed it down with sangria. The staff were great and really helpful. I really hope to go back to York soon so I can visit Source again!
Best vegan restaurant I have ever been to. Friendly staff. Incredible food. The flavors are superb. We had the Not a BBQ Short Rib and the No Lobster & Mac. The texture of the rib was spot on and the flavors of the Mac were wonderful! Highly recommend!!
One of the most beautiful meals I've ever eaten. I ordered the Mushroom Shawarma and it was incredible. An explosion of flavours. Succulent, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth mushrooms with a gorgeous creamy sauce, fresh crisp salad and a zingy tang from the pickles and slaw that tied the whole thing together perfectly. My partner ordered the ribs and said they were delicious too. I'm so pleased we decided to come here on our visit to York and can't wait to come back again. 10/10
First of all, excellent customer service. Very attentive staff who refilled water without even having to be asked, very quick and friendly. Even when they werent busy with customers, they were tidying the place constantly.
Secondly, the food here is excellent. Loads of veggie choices with the option to go vegan. And very very tasty! We will be back!
(maybe a tip for improvement. We got the nachos but the sauce was freezing cold, just out of fridge. It was lovely but it cooler the warm nachos down very quickly. Maybe the sauce toppings could be warmed slightly so there's not as much as a contrast)

Delicious brunch, I tried the salmon and scrumbled tofu and my husband had the beyond burger. We loved the whole experience. Staff, food, the place! They are 100% vegan. They offer dine-in and terrace. It is a must if you are in York!
A perfect breakfast in a really friendly, cosy place. My partner and I had only stayed for the night in York and wanted a vegan Brunch and we weren't disappointed! After only a short wait we were seated and our order came super quickly, although by this point we'd eyed so many of the other amazing looking dishes coming out of the kitchen we couldn't wait to get stuck in. We really enjoyed not only the food but also the service here as staff were very friendly, accommodating, and patient. Definitely recommend to York visitors.
Such a great place for brunch! I wish they were open for dinner as well though. All the food was spot on, portions were very generous and prices very reasonable for the centre of York. Looking forward to visiting Source again.
Delicious food and lovely service - Kitty and Jade were super friendly and really attentive. We had the lobster and banana fish open sandwiches with Mac n cheese it was absolutely 10/10

This is a great 100% vegan place!! I'm lactose intolerant so I always have to stress about what's in what I order but here I can pick from the whole menu! My boyfriend isn't vegan but he got the full English and said he loved it! Super tasting food and very pleasant staff. Great for both vegans and non vegans!
100% Vegan food, currently has scaffolding on the front of the building so easy to miss as the sign is obscured. Staff excellent and prices reasonable. Food very good. Couldn't eat it all!
Amazing all vegan restaurant! Want to go back for brunch and try pancakes etc, the ribs were amazing. Its nice to hear they are behind the VFC which is now in supermarkets
