We have walked passed Dyls so many times but finally went in this weekend. Boy we were not disappointed, both my partner and I had the ‘special’ Vietnamese chicken sandwich. It was simply stunning! The mix of flavours that came through was an experience, we both agreed that it was the best sandwich we had ever had!

Worth every penny. Had the Yorkshire ham and cheese toastie. To say I’d travel to York just for one of these toasties I’m not lying! The atmosphere was beautiful by the river. The waitress was so friendly, attentive and polite. Beautiful place with beautiful food and people.

Dropped In for a pint, coffee and cake while heading back to our hotel... Great vibe-a must if passing, or just fancy a change when visiting the area! We sat in the tower... sorted💯

I have mixed feelings, the food and location are excellent, but the service was really slow. The soup was very nice.

My partner and I were visiting York and noticed this cafe on a stroll so we decided to come the next day as a treat after visiting the Museum. We were greeted by an incredibly friendly man who sat us down quickly and was very enthusiastic and attentive. We ordered an americano, hazelnut latte and the pistachio and orange brownie. WOW! This was the best coffee I have ever had and the brownie was so decadent. We both felt incredibly relaxed during our visit and the decor was vibrant and interesting to look at. We are both saddened that we are not residents of York because this would have easily become our go-to spot on a cold rainy day.

Lovely little Cafe next to river and a park. The coffee was nice and so was the cake we ordered. The service was a little slow, took 20 minutes for our order 😞

Really couldn't fault this quirky little place overlooking the river in York. Loved all the plants everywhere inside the building. Staff were excellent and couldn't have worked harder. Drinks and food were great!

We had an outside lunch here, but if you ever do that, don't forget to have a look at the inside because how it looked there was a pleasant surprise. The lunch we had was really good and the staff was friendly.

I don’t normally go out of my way to write reviews but felt this place needed to be shouted about. The menu has items you wouldn’t find anywhere else and they’re executed so well the pizza wraps were delicious and I’m so sad we were only in York for one day and had to leave not knowing when I’d be eating that dish again. Even the fries were top notch. Perfect place to stop when walking the wall with gorgeous views of the river. My only pointers of constructive criticisms would be; don’t use napkins under the food maybe swap for greasproof paper the napkin gets stuck to the food. Also the plates are a little small for the quantity of food so everything was a little squashed and you have to eat through the fries to get to the wrap- not an issue just a thought. But I really enjoyed my lunch there the food was incredible

Great little place for a coffee and cake on the banks of the Ouse. Both had a mocha with caramel shortcake. Both drinks and cake were really tasty and good value for money. Limited outside seating but tables quickly cleared when vacated. Five minutes from city centre. Good place for a cuppa The day got better when I bumped in to Lorraine chase and Mike burns .

This is by far the cosiest, coolest place in York, maybe the UK, maybe Earth. Outside you can sit overlooking the river. Inside is a myriad of amazing little places to sit and savour the most amazing atmosphere ever! The cool Soviet satirical 'Crocodile' magazines from the 70s adjourn the walls. So cool. We were holding our phones up to the text to translate the political humour of the then Soviet Union at the time. Food and drinks and service and hospitality are alone, worth coming to York for. I will remember this delightful place until my dying day❤️. It's 5 minutes walk from the Rowntree campsite. Visit Dyals is a must!

A very nice atmosphere indoors with nice decor. Outdoors is a little crowded (tables too close) but once you're sat down, it's not too much of a problem. Tables needed wiping down. Coffees took 20 minutes to come after ordering, and food 40 minutes, so it can be a little slow. Worth the wait though - the food was absolutely perfect.

Such a cute place! They didnt sell hot drinks when i came in the afternoon which was a bummer bc me and my friend just wanted hot coco. Stairs were scary to walk down after a few drinks especially when people were queuing for toilets and taking up half of the narrow stairs. With the plants, light and music would still recommend as a Cozy place for drinks :)
