Fantastic dinner on a Monday evening! The beef was perfect, my wife had chicken and it was exquisite. Highly recommend, without hesitation. We arrived at 5, without reservations and were seated right away.

The best food I have ever eaten. I booked a table online but the earliest I could get was at 8.45pm, however we were passing about an hour before and popped in to see if we could get in any earlier and the staff kindly took us to a table. The place is lovely but the food is out of this world, this is certainly my all time favourite place to eat. Highly recommended.

Nice food but not amazing. The staff are friendly & gave good service. The food came out very quickly though - you can tell they want you gone after 90 minutes so you feel rushed! When you book it states how long you have the table for so we don't need reminding. Therefore our experience wasn't as relaxed as we'd hoped for a nice restaurant. We won't rush back. We'd give this restaurant 3.5 stars but the staff 4 stars.

A fantastic French restaurant with exquisite food and friendly staff. My other half and I each had a set menu with 3 courses. We both had a Crème brûlée for dessert, as a main he had a Confit de Canard (Slow roasted leg of duck served with Dauphinoise potatoes and a port and redcurrant sauce) and I had Croquettes de Saumon,(Homemade salmon fishcakes served with mixed leaves, fries and tartare sauce) and for starters he had a Classic French Onion Soup which he claims to be as delicious as the one he had in Paris; and I had Fritot de Brie (Breaded brie served with mixed leaves and mixed berry compote). We also had a glass of white and red wine respectively. We highly recommend the restaurant, I would rate it 10/10. 🤩

Came here after reading all the great reviews and we weren't disappointed. Fantastic set lunch menu with so much choice! We had fishcake and French onion soup to start and also a side of garlic bread which tasted like a loaf had been dipped into a vat of garlic butter. It was amazing. Mussels and oeuf a la basque for mains and I had sticky toffee pudding. Our favourite meal we had in York!!

Met with friends for the Set Menu, 2 courses. Food was really nice and a good price. Was quite busy upstairs & downstairs and our Server was a little brusk but didn't spoil our meal.

Lovely meal here on Saturday night. The place is always packed apparently, so make sure you book! Food was delicious and service friendly and efficient. Lovely wine list with a few non-French options that were carefully considered. Sit downstairs if you can - upstairs is bigger and can be noisy. I will definitely be returning! My only gripe is that the set menu is not available on weekend evenings.

Decided to try booking a table last minute for a Thursday night, and managed to get squeezed in around 9pm. Seems like a really popular place, it was full. The service was good, friendly chatty waiters that let us get on with enjoying our meal. And the food itself was excellent. Wonderful starter of scallops with celeriac puree; the pork belly in a nice jus was some of the best I've tried. Hopefully it won't be long before I can come back.

Amazing French cuisine, delicious food and friendly staff. The set menu had a great variety of choices, you would definitely find something you want. All the dishes we had was so well cooked made me think I was in France. Would surely come back next time I am in York!

Lunch with no reservation, was sat thoughtfully upstairs in case someone mobility challenged needed ground floor seating. Had french onion soup and sautéed mushrooms and a glass of wine. Both dishes good. Sat in a upstairs room alone, most were in the next bright dining room, multiple seating areas.

Honestly cannot praise this place enough. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. I’ve eaten all over the world and this place is in my top 5. It was actually that good. Escargot, moules, onion soup and pate for starters were all excellent. The beef bourguignon was unreal and so was the lamb. What a place 👌

Very nice staff who were understanding despite us being late to our reservation and were helpful throughout. The onion soup is incredible definitely try it if you know that's your kind of thing. Salmon provençale was incredible and perfectly cooked, the king prawn pasta however was not as nice but still not terrible, especially for the very reasonable set menu price.

Enjoyable experience! Came for lunch on a Sunday, friendly and attentive staff and the food was excellent. 3 course set menu is very good value for the standard of service, will be back soon and would most definitely recommend.

Lovely experience and the course meals were good value for price!! The highlights were definitely the starters as they just tasted amazing 😋 service was great too The only thing was the crème brûlée, the texture was slightly too creamy and a lot sweeter than I expected (from what I knew should be from my dining experience in France) Despite this it was a really nice experience overall and I enjoyed my meal here :)
