Great pub , wonderful rural location , beautiful gardens, nice food and a friendly team were on hand , cycled with our local club there over the bank holiday Monday, food was tasty (recommend the Vietnamese prawn baguette ), the food came out quick and the staff really coped well considering around 35 of us turned up pretty much all at once and ordered would definitely recommend !
Welcoming, helpful and attentive staff. We called in no reservation during a busy Sunday lunch service and were ably accommodated with little delay. The roast dinner was delicious (though over priced imo at £18.50) and the kids menu very good value at £9 (which included dessert). Overall a positive experience. Would definitely go again
Such a lovely place the food was outstanding ,all staff very helpful and friendly ,and all lovely and clean .we all had a wonderful time there thanks to everyone .
Fantastic accommodation and the best food you will ever taste
Just try the monkfish!!
The beer and the service capped off a wonderful trip
Super little Berkshire gem. We love the quiz night on a Tuesday and the delicious menu. The staff are splendid and always happy to help. Great spot to meet friends or enjoy a scrumptious Sunday lunch with family.
Excellent food and accommodation... but what made our stay .... the staff. Informative, attentive, friendly and lots of fun. Nothing was too much! THANK YOU all for making our short stay at home in England so enjoyable.
Lovely pub with a really friendly welcome. Stayed two nights, and had dinner both nights - hadn't intended to do so, but the food was so good on the first night, we decided to do it again on the second, and we weren't disappointed. Even though we didn't book a table in advance, the landlady worked hard to fit us in, despite the restaurant being extremely busy. Thoroughly recommended.
What a fantastic pub with great food in what must b3 one of the most charming and unspoiled villages in Britain.
Not sure if my last post worked!! Fantastic relaxing garden at the back of this gorgeous pub! Thanks to all the staff for their help on Saturday evening! Will definitely return!
Had a superb lunch at The Royal Oak. Food lovely, service good and very friendly. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going again!
Excellent food.great atmosphere.will come again soon
Excellent. Lovely room, very comfortable and a good breakfast.
Echt gaaf traditioneel Engels hotel met prachtige kamers en heerlijk eten.
This is a beautiful countryside pub with really great food on offer. We have eaten here more than once and have always been sat in the orangery, which is a bright and airy place to sit with a nice view of the open kitchen. The staff all seem really nice and the service we received was very good. It was slightly slow, but none of us were in a rush and it was a very nice place to sit while we waited anyway. The food is served in good portion sizes, and we think it is well worth the price charged. We have been before and will definitely come again.
Lovely clean and beautiful place, well stocked bar. Kitchen closes in the afternoon so be aware if trying to have a late lunch or afternoon snack. Will definitely be coming back for a meal soon though. Did not see the hotel side of things so can’t comment on that.
The hotel is in a picture perfect setting. The dining areas are beautiful and the staff happy to help with any requests. We were able to move our reservation to a garden table. The food was delicious (recommend butternut squash salad) and staff friendly throughout.
We had an issue with the heating (constantly on) in our room which the staff helped with as much as able but these things happen and it didn’t spoil our trip.
We booked for my mothers ninetieth birthday and had a small private room. The food was delicious and the waiting staff were super kind and attentive.
Thank Royal Oak for a very special day.
3 of us and the dog had an amazing 3 course meal. Great service, beautiful garden, tasty food. The cafe across the road also has great coffee and cakes if you feel like a 4th course! The countryside around Yattendon is beautiful too. Definitely worth a visit.
Great food, good service, nice orangery with an open kitchen and pizza oven. We had the stake and rosemary potatoes, which were fantastic. And the country side location gives you enough peace and quiet to enjoy nature.
Absolutely beautiful pub in a gorgeous village. The food was delicious and we will be back again soon. Lovely staff and a place you are in no rush to leave!
amazing food.. Great atmosphere .. fantastic staff
surprised the misses with a happy birthday dish
will be returning with out a doubt
First time at this restaurant, this time for a work social. Excellent service, fine food, and a lovely atmosphere.
Nice restaurant, really delicious food, Kseniia was really friendly and helpful. Ribs and bone steak are super tasty, spring rolls and tomato salad - wonderful. Great job.
What a great place to stay, thank you. Very relaxed, very clean and comfortable, lovely food, but I never got to the village shop across the way!!! Thank you all at The Royal Oak.
Had a lovely meal for my grandson's 21st birthday. Food great had slow cooked shoulder of lamb. Only criticism was the lack of vegetables
Loved it, wonderful meal, staff were a credit to you and the building fantastic. We will certainly visit again. Many thanks xx.
I cannot recommend this place enough! I've been here a few times for food and everything that I've tried has been top notch, they have a wide variety of food, even for gluten free food, and the menu changes often.
