Excellent breakfast, love the potatoes. Mum not keen on sausages and asked for veggie which was no trouble at all and they were really tasty! Glad I went back as I was put off in July when my husband and I went for breakfast to find that they had no potatoes and baked beans. Think they should stock up on the basics! Would recommend the full English, kids love the pancakes, not tried other brekkie options 👍

Had lunch today for my Mum's 70th Birthday. 10 of us ate in the train carriage seating area. Lovely roaring fire. Staff friendly and polite (especially the blonde waitress - sorry didn't know name!). Service was swift.. albeit we did -pre-order as a large number of us. Food was great value for money and none of us had room for dessert or even a coffee! Will definitely recommend and will be back! Thank you.

This is one of our favourite places to go for lunch and breakfast! The food is fantastic, the staff are lovely and my daughter loves watching the trains whizz by. Fantastic for kids and sitting in the train carriages with an open fire creates such a lovely atmosphere in the winter.

Nice settings, good menu selection; great service from friendly staff (I had the full English and a cappuccino - very nice indeed). Visited here Sunday 12th October as a small group of cyclists and made very welcome. When making initial enquiries (fb messaging) I was offered a table reservation by a window overlooking the purpose-built cycle sheds, so we could keep an eye on our beloved bikes! Overall a very accommodating experience; highly recommended; will definitely be on our ride rota. Thank you Kate :-)

Dropped by for veggie breakfast - nice veggie sausages, mushrooms, potatoes, baked beans, egg and tomato with brown toast. Delicious, filling and cooked to perfection. And enjoyed all the more sitting next to a roaring open fire in the old 'railway carriage' part of the restaurant. Excellent - must do it again!

Lovely quick and friendly service for our Sunday morning brunch. Enjoyable food and great timing, the food served at the same time for our party of five. Loved sitting in the old train seats, very comfy too. Will definitely be visiting again soon 😊

I booked a family meal here and we had the Christmas menu even though it was for a 75th birthday celebration. We were sat in 1950s train seats put together to look an old rail carriage, even the decorations were appropriate for the theme. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive but not over bearing, and the price was very reasonable. It was lovely sitting in that environment watching the modern trains go past the window (the bistro being on the station platform). There was also a more traditional open coffee shop style room for anyone wanting a morning coffee, breakfast, lunch, cake etc. I'd highly recommend coming here, we genuinely had a wonderful time.

Had a lovely visit. So nice to sit in the very comfy train seats. Such a novelty. The decor really adds to the experience with suitcases on racks and a bit of history with photos. The coffee was lovely and very friendly service. Already have plans to go back for food.

Been for breakfast a couple of times in the last month. Two vegans and two not. Both times we all enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast and various teas and coffees. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. It’s comfortable and decorated with old rail memorabilia. Will be back!

We had an afternoon tea for father's Day, absolutely brilliant, wide range of sandwiches and cake and trifle. Amazing staff... Our waitress was very kind and generous. Even put a candle on my dads cake to celebrate. Amazing food and drink and well worth the money. Definitely recommend.

The Station Bistro, what a wonderful find and It's such a shame we don't live closer as this would be our go to place to dine. So, my wife and I decided to book a table for the Friday evening and wow, we were not disappointed. We were greeted warmly on entering and shown to our table. We were made to feel valued guests. I chose the burger, my wife the beef stroganoff, absolutely perfect, freshly cooked and delicious, cooked to perfection. We chatted to our fellow diners to say we would have chosen their dishes too. The ham and eggs looked amazing! We choose the sponge pudding and custard for me and strawberry waffle for my better half. She says she has the better dessert, but I disagree ha ha. As a footnote, the toilets are spotlessly clean, which is a big plus in my book, which shows they care. So, if you are reading this then go support your local independent restaurants, we need more places like this. Our fellow diner said she is going back for Sunday lunch, good for her, if we were still there we would too, and possibly breakfast the next day. A wonderful place, charming, warm and friendly staff, all with a railway theme. What is there not too like.

I’ve been into the bistro a few times recently and every time and I’ve received the best customer service, all the staff are very attentive, friendly and give excellent service. Will make this a regular cafe to visit. The food is equally as amazing. Well done.

Fancy a trip back in time? Then the Station Bistro is perfect. Situated on the platform the bistro has seats and fittings from the great ages of railway. Nostalgic pictures adorn the walls and there is a great feeling of the old days about it. Whilst i gave 5 stars before, i have to adjust it, the toasted teacake took so long to arrive ww had finished our coffee and it was only luke warm. We still like the Bistro and hope thus was just a blip. Still worth a visit!!

The breakfast at the train station is not comparable to Germany. Young and old meet here for breakfast/brunch or just a cup of coffee or tea. Everything was super relaxed and relaxed. It looks inconspicuous from the outside but has charm inside. The service is fast and really polite, but as a group it can be more difficult to get a seat. Here, too, it is well attended than average. The price is completely OK for the English breakfast. and drinks. Parking is not that easy because it is time limited and free parking spaces are rather rare. Went there on the recommendation of a local and can only pass on the tip

Great unique place. It was a bit cold away from the real fire. Should have gone in the adjoining converted rail carriage area. Food presented a bit oddly. Staff were friendly and chatty.

Great cafe bar, small groups can use the train seats in one part, these are the favourites, but we were 11 persons so we'd booked a large table, nice choice of food, etc, and as its also a working railway station, you have the added views of trains, we all had very nice meals, and will definitely be going there again.

A fantastic experience. We visited this Bistro on the 16th March 2019 and hadn’t got a clue what to expect but where advised to reserve tablets. On entering the car park you see two lots of car park signage one for the pay and display car park and the other for the free bistro parking so make sure you park in the correct parking bays. On entry to the front door we was met by a room with no carpets wooden tables and a lot of train memorabilia around the outside, however as soon as we mention we had reserved a table for a certain time we where taken to another room which was out of this world ( see pictures) . It resembled the inside of an old type first class train carriage right down to the lighting and seats etc. Upon being shown to our table the really nice waitress returned within 5 minutes to take our order and with 20 minutes our brunches where on our table. All ingredients where not packet bought or of budget size, the black pudding we had on our plate was the size of a burger yet you go to a Weatherspoons and it’s wafer thin. It was good to taste locally cooked and sourced ingredients and this was reflected by the way the chef cooked the item and then took the time to plate the order up rather than just slapping it on the plate. Every member of staff we spoke to seemed genuinely happy to help and be at work which is a change from the McDonald’s 24hr minimum wage staff you get down the road. This is a bistro I will definitely be going back to take and time again and would hesitate to recommend to family and friends alike.

It was very nice my family 5 adults and one baby went on a Sunday, glad we booked as it was full and some walk one had to be turned away, my family enjoyed there meals and we're gluten free catered for I am vegan and they did very well checking what was in the veggie sausages (egg) and how the mushrooms were cooked (oil). It was a cute set up enjoyed the vibe staff were lovely but I probably won't retunr as there isn't really vegan food.

Really quaint cafe and bistro. Stunning building with parking outside. Inside is split, a standard cafe look but the bistro is a train theme, seats and accessories. Both overlook the platform. They do full menus but on this occasion it was shutting early and we were too late. So had coffee (after our three hour drive). There are toilets. The staff were friendly and courteous.

Visited yesterday for the first time. Really lovely location, enjoyed our lunch very much. Will be booking again for a roast in the near future, and hopefully get to experience sitting in the carriage style section. The only reason I haven't given a 5* is that the cake I had was rather dry, so thought it better to be honest rather than dishing out 5* for everything. If I could have given 4.5* I would!

We went as a family for Sunday breakfast. If you book you have a table and chairs from an old railway carriage, with the net luggage rack above you. Now back to the food, the breakfast we had was excellent, we had a full English, one pancakes, one waffle and a bacon breakfast bap. Coffee was very good. The loss of a star was no air-conditioning on. A member of staff was using a neck fan. I tried to borrow it to no avail. Well worth a visit we will return.
