I visited the Green Dragon on a Sunday night and wrongly assumed it would be very quiet. How wrong could i be,the bar was full as were the dining areas. There was live music going on upstairs and the staff were very busy. The pub is a real gem and a must to visit, the staff are extremely efficient and freindly. We decided to eat there and the food was excellent quality, well cooked, piping hot and good amount too even though i am a big eater i was struggling to finish my meal. There is a great selection of beers, ciders and wines/spirits. I am not a regular pub goer these days but the Green Dragon is the sort of pub that would get me out of my house on a cold winters evening. Well done to the management and staff for making this place a roaring success.
Wonderful meal yesterday catered well for gluten free me. The belly pork is the best I have ever eaten out it just melted in the mouth. The crackling was superb. Then beer and cider festival. Ginger and chilli cider amazing. Thanks Green Dragon for being the perfect venue for a get together for hubbies birthday. We will be back very soon.
great beer fest, amazing choice, seriously busy, food looked good what was brought out, looked a bit overpriced to me, but then again i'm tight, over £10 for sausage and mash? nah, think i'll pass, nearly everyone was having the cheesy chips, the chips looked lovely, so I am guessing that is what they are known for? seriously, every few minutes more plates of cheesy chips being delivered, anyway, lovely pub, nice friendly staff, good beers, well kept, never had a bad one all day, would definitely go next year, lovely little pub.
Definitely the best pub in Wymondham, it’s our local go to pub. Today our food order was messed up but the lovely Josh immediately came out of the kitchen to apologise and brought us drinks on the house along with a packet of Walkers! Good work Green Dragon and special thanks to Josh xx
Had a lovely pork roast today celebrating my Nan's birthday. Food is to die for, fantastic portion sizes and always feel welcome and lovely atmosphere. My favourite pub to go to and always going back!
Best public house in town and the oldest, friendly staff, great food and great beers ,fantastic beer garden in summer, and great indoors in winter, overall excellent place to be.
This pub oozes atmopshere... its a friendly, busy pub, with massive character, and great, well kept beer. My American friends would be in pieces over the place!
Have always loved The Green Dragon and have been regulars for a number of years now. We recently hired the upstairs bar for a special birthday with a group of friends. Justin and his team were amazing and made our night truly memorable. The food was fantastic and the gin selection went down well with everyone. Can’t thank the team at the Green Dragon enough and would highly recommend anyone getting in touch with the them if you are thinking of doing the same. We’ll definitely be in for a gin night soon.
Lovely pub with a good selection of well kept ales..the sunday roasts are nearly as good as my mum's so well worth a visit!
Lovely place with an equally lovely garden. Great food and friendly staff. Will definitely be back soon.

Another great night of food and service in the Green Dragon. Really good quality food, excellent helpful, happy staff and a good mix of customers. If you're in Wymondham definitely worth a visit.
Lovely warm welcome, friendly staff, quaffable wine and wonderful food, even got a doggy bag for a doggy xx
Been afew times with friends for food and the comdey night.
The roasts are amazing! All the staff are lovely and helpful. Will definitely be back.
Lovely staff, great value food, beautiful
building and a nice garden to sit in to enjoy it all.
We visited as a family for a meal on Saturday night. We phoned ahead and booked a table outside. It's busy on a Saturday so must book to avoid disappointment!
We were shown to our table and informed we need to order at the bar. This meant being a wait as they only had one card machine and with lots of people wanting to eat and drink the que was going outside.
The food was incredible. I had duck rolls to start and Tempura Chicken as my main. The food was a large portion. Delicious sauces with the meal. Very filling.
WiFi at the pub which reaches the garden. WiFi code at the bar.
We will be back.
Lovely historic pub. I just had time for one beer but the menu looked great. At least four ales on tap. Beer garden and service at the tables.

Lovely Tudor half timbered pub situated in an attractive picture postcard area of Wymondham. Some say it is late 14th century others mid 15th century. Does have a dragon in it but my photo turned out naff so don't know if it is green. The food looked very appetising, staff welcoming and helpful plus a good range of beers and lagers.
A smashing old-world vibe serving great beer and ale along with amazing food. Probably one of the best Sunday roasts I've had for a long while all set in an authentic middle-earth tavern in the shires. Would highly recommend. A+++
Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime. Friendly staff and good beer. Sat in the beer garden. All dog friendly.
Fantastic and historic pub. Decent ales and a great food menu (currently served al fresco due to covid) with a lovely beer garden and fantastic flower displays. Friendly staff and customers make it an ideal place to stop off for refreshments.
Such a beautiful, period pub set in a lovely traditional town.
You can dine in or outside in the garden and for chilly October nights a tepe and fire pit are on the way.
We 3 had gammon / burger / hunters chicken and really enjoyed our meals, but had to leave a little because the portion sizes were quite generous! No room for desserts!
Be aware that food service closes at 8pm as the kitchen staff leave.
The Green Dragon does not have a car park and there is limited street parking. We parked in Back Street car park and walked through the alleyway to the right of another pub and then turned right followed by a left at the church.
We must return soon.
Beautiful meal in a stunning location. Great variance of meals on the menu. Super friendly staff. We will most definitely be coming back! Thank you
A return visit after some years to the Green Dragon, which I understand to have recently re-opened under new ownership. The fascinating building remains one of the most enchanting pubs I've ever visited. For lunch, from a fairly limited menu, I had a good, generous, sausage baguette with very nice chips, eaten in the very pleasant courtyard. Service is friendly and efficient, and the youngish guy who I think was the manager was incredibly enthusiastic about the pub and its possibilities under the new owners. Nearby Wymondham Abbey is wonderful, and the town is very pleasant.
Lovely place. Food and service was good. Had the lunch sandwich of the day, the meat was a bit chewy but still good. Chips & pint were delish. Friendly service. Visiting from Toronto and manager took me on a wee tour of the building providing some historical insight.
Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime. Friendly staff and good beer. Sat in the beer garden. All dog friendly.
Me and my wife popped in for a meal and everything from the service to the food was 5*. It's nice to still find businesses offering a good service with so many still using COVID as an excuse for delivering subpar standards.
Wow. Wow. Wow. One of the best bits of pork belly I've ever had. The roasties had the perfect crispy to fluffy ratio, the Yorkshires were simply spot on and the pig in blanket to top it off. The mango and passion fruit cheesecake weren't half bad either!
Great food and beer. We were outside under the gazebo which was dry and had plenty of room between us and the other tables. We used the hopt app to order which was really simple and fairly quick.
Lovely food, everyone is very welcoming
