My friend and I went for dinner here this evening.
Well! We weren't disappointed. All food was home prepared and tasted proper yummy. Excellent service from a great team of staff.
A great pub with a proper atmosphere full of regulars supping at the bar!
Can't go without mentioning the gorgeous Oakley , the dog who came to say hello... he's also a regular!!!
Great little pub in Wroughton at the top of the hill. You have to register your car reg on a screen in the entrance and there are reminders on every table inside to do so , when we when it was very busy with a couple of functions, so seating was limited. The decor was very good and staff pleasant and efficient. Good selection of wine and beers. Didn't have anything off the menu.
Went to a golden wedding anniversary here in the private function room. All I can say is fantastic time was had.
We had buffet food and it was bloody lovely.
My husband and myself are thinking of booking on for a proper meal in the near future.
Couldn't give a rating on the rooms as we didn't stay there.
We had a Sunday lunch here with friends and it was delicious. Plenty of different meat and veggie options. Quality meat served with excellent, enormous Yorkshire puddings and delicious roast potatoes and a side dish of vegetables. Can't wait to go again. Service is really friendly and it's such a cosy, characterful pub.
We were staying nearby and came on our second night for a meal. Staff were so nice, friendly and helpful. I had my back to the kitchen but my husband was eying up all the food as it came out. Really good choice (it made it difficult to choose) and the portions were big! It isn't often I leave food on my plate (unless it isn't great) but I thought I'd burst! (And I have a good appetite!) Hubby still managed a pud though and went for apple and BlackBerry crumble. Of course I had to have one little bite and it was good too. Really good atmosphere and, they also have a doggy menu which I thought was a good idea. Why should your doggy companion go without while you're stuffing your face?!?
Sunday roast mixed meat, decent slice of each. Roast was cooked well and very tasty, with plenty of gravy. Would have liked a few more roast potatoes. Great service.
Great food and friendly staff, went here for an evening meal and had a great time. I will definitely be going back.
Food was superb and service exceptional. Portions were massive. Even had a singer performing during our visit which was enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend this place.

If I could give more than 5 stars than I absolutely would.
My husband and I had our wedding reception in “The Den” as we had a small wedding but wanted to find a local country pub to have some food and drinks. We hadn’t seen the pub before as we are from Surrey but took a chance. We had booked the room 12-6 but as there was no party booked in after us, they allowed us to stay past our allocated time. They happily played music we requested and when the pub got busier they supplied us with speakers to allow us to continue our party.
The buffet was incredible and our guests commented on how delicious the food was, especially the burger sliders and chicken goujons. Nothing was too much trouble - I have a fussy child who wanted a plain burger and another who wanted a slice of bread and butter, all of which was accommodated for with a smile.
Talking of accommodating - some of our guests and ourselves stayed in the pubs rooms and they were all spacious, clean and the facilities were brilliant. There is no breakfast in the pub but they do have a complimentary breakfast station for continental breakfast choices and the croissants were a big hit all round.
All in all, this pub made our special day even more special and I could not fault everything on offer. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The pub was welcoming and The Den was beautifully decorated and inviting. I would recommend and we will definitely be back.

We come here a lot being our local gr8 atmosphere and music as well oh and very nice staff 👍
Really good food and beer. Parking arrangements penalise customers who forget to enter car details. I got a hefty fine. I won't be back.
Have eaten in this restaurant previously and enjoyed the food so I decided to try the 'ring a roast' - available on Sundays.
App was user friendly. Time window for delivery was 12.50 until 1.50. At 2.30, called the restaurant to say we had not recieved delivery. Apologetic staff member explained the time window had been pushed to the next slot.. food would be here soon.
Food arrived at 3pm.. smart and friendly driver immediately said sorry for being late. The restaurant had also packed up some complimentary puddings by way of apology. This customer service goes a long way... the restaurant recognised that the service I recieved today was not the usual HIGH standard and took the time to correct it.
The food... delivered piping hot, presented as well as in the restaurant, good quality ingredients and generous portions. I would use this restaurant again and would recommend it too others.
A really lovely village pub. The staff were great, even though they were setting up for a very large sitting , they set aside a table for us, and worked around us until we had finished. Reasonable prices, and a good selection of local and branded drinks. We were most impressed with the menus, and have already planned a return visit for Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.
Booked for a family birthday lunch. Parking at a premium. Just managed to get a space. Seated in an additional area under a shed like roof. Saying that, it was decorated with sparkly lights and greenery. Chairs comfy enough, though the bench by the wall wasn't suitable for a tall or more elderly person.
Food was great, menu adequate! However, service was disappointing. Waited for nearly an hour for dessert menu and service, hence dropping a star. We did have to ask twice! Would return as food good, but make sure we weren't forgotten!
