A lovely, friendly pub. Great staff and you can never fault the food, portion sizes and price. I highly recommend the pub to all I know and meet. Great sized beer garden, brilliant function room upstairs and entertainment is great fun! Worth giving the pub a try you won't regret it οΏ½ thank you to Ellie and all the team xx

We hosted a baby shower for my sister on Sunday 19th February. We had the function room upstairs and the rose & crown catered for the occassion with a tea party theme. The room is large and there was more than enough space for our 30 guests and some children. We wanted to stick to a budget so we told Ellie how much we wished to spend and she more than over exceeded our expectations. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. A few stayed after the party and had dinner downstairs. They said the food was delicious and they would definitely recommend it. We were very pleased with Ellie and the team 😊

Great country pub in a lovely village right next to the village green and village pond. Great range of food, beers and wines and very friendly staff. Lovely decor in this recently refurbished pub which has been done very tastefully whilst maintaining its traditional look. Super atmosphere which is very welcoming to visitors. Will definitely make a point of going to this pub again.

We had an 80th Birthday party in the dedicated upstairs function room on Saturday 16th September 201, lunchtime. The occasion went very well and Ellie and her team were excellent .The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable . There was no rushing, but the food was all served swiftly and professionally, with a personal touch. Thank you for the service and care.

After a lovely brisk walk this afternoon from Chelmsford, my daughter and I popped in for a bar snack and a warm drink. We sat by the fire and both agreed what a lovely pub it was. Thumbs up...we will def be back. Need to try the Sunday roast οΏ½

Love this pub so friendly and we can bring our little dog with us and the barmaid even brought a bowl of water over to him! We had a lovely lunch the crayfish and prawn sandwich was lovely and my husband had their home made Scottish egg which was yummy πŸ˜‹

Nice pub with outside seating which were well spaced apart. Huge garden space. Not just for smokers. Lovely to sit outside when it's sunny. Food was great & value for money. Great price for fish & chips. Chilli on jacket potato with salad was very tasty. Would strongly recommend this friendly pub. Staff were very friendly. Didn't have to wait long for food to be served. Clean environment. Even a small playground for children. Ample parking. πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Very friendly service upon arrival and the food was good with generous portions. Seems to be dog friendly too with a large beer garden.

Nice pub, great seating area indoors and out. Good menu and large choice of food. We had the tuna and cheese jacket potato's. Well presented, they came with a lovely side salad and tasty dressing. The crumble was also very nice. Good, friendly service, would have been a 5* but the milk pot was not very clean.

We had a family reunion in the function room upstairs. Can't fault the staff at all, very attentive and helpful. Food was good, but the decor is getting old and tired. Still would I recommend The Rose and Crown. Yes I would.

A great pub for families - lovely big, shady pub garden with play area. Plenty of space. Nice food menu although limited children's options so we usually get chips.

Friendly arrival from the staff, and continued to look after us during our meal. We had the roast which was amazing and very reasonable priced. Definitely recommend the Mega Rose and Crown roast. We will definitely visit again to try breakfast and evening menu.

We were a party of 7 who didn't book for a lunch. Staff were very accomodating. Service was quick. Food delicious. I had swordfish in a mussel sauce. Altogether splendid.
