My first Christmas meal last night
Exceptionally tasty...well presented, good selection of vegetables & such tasty turkey I was impressed...
My tip is unless you are ravenous....don’t have a starter as the portions are very generous...loved it...would definitely recommend this restaurant...think you’ll have to book though...we did...
We was here today celebrating mr & mrs pritchards wedding day.....well done staff & chef !! The food was gorgeous & the staff friendly & helpful.....will defo go back again!! The pub is gorgeous !!!

Food and service exceptional! I recommend the black pudding starter, followed by the Guiness feathered beef and finish with the waffle and ice cream. I genuinely never thought food could taste so good!
Happy to visit another B&P pub and again was amazed by the thought and design that goes in to these establishments.. staff were excellent and a great crowd enjoying the bank holiday weather, well done again
Have visited a few times now and have always received 5* star service and fabulous food. The actual place is just gorgeous with a real fire burning in the dining area. Can’t fault this place at all.

We came to celebrate my mums 50th birthday on Friday evening, cannot thank you enough, we had a wonderful table, food was amazing and the staff were fantastic, was such good service considering there was 18 of us to contend with! We will be back again soon!
It’s a favourite of ours . We love the Atmosphere, the Staff are great and we have been going there for a number of years .and most of the Staff have been there for as long as we have been Celebrating various birthdays And Family events . Great selection of Wuality food .
Had a lovely family meal, the setting is beautiful, plenty of seating inside and out. The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly, and helpful. The prices were average, and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend this place.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Hand & Trumpet, our local pub, and I must say it was an overall delightful experience that deserves a solid 5-star rating. This charming establishment impressed me in various aspects, including the staff, service, food quality, and atmosphere.

Speaking of service, I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency and professionalism of the waitstaff. My orders were promptly taken, and the food was served in a timely manner. It's rare to find such a well-coordinated team in a local pub, and it made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
Now, let's talk about the food quality. The Hand & Trumpet exceeded my expectations with its delectable offerings. Additionally, I couldn't help but miss the Ploughman's lunch that used to be available at the Hand & Trumpet. It was a favorite of mine, and I hope they consider bringing it back in the future.
In conclusion, the Hand & Trumpet is a hidden gem in our local dining scene. The outstanding staff, impeccable service, top-notch food quality, and inviting atmosphere make it a must-visit establishment. While there were some minor menu quirks, they did little to diminish the overall excellence of the experience. I eagerly look forward to my next visit to the Hand & Trumpet and recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience.
Lovely food that tastes worthy of the price premium. Both the inside and outside areas have plenty of individuality and character. Staff very friendly. The desserts were delicious.

Only improvement...get the staff uniforms or skirts that fit,girls wearing short skirts a bit unprofessional in my opinion
Haven't been in over a year and my main was lovely. I had the boar pork and apple pie. The meat was juicy with plenty of gravy. Service was quick and we were shown to our table immediately. Atmosphere in the main dining room was relaxed although busy everyone seemed to be having a nice time. Great for food and hope to be back soon as there was plenty of choice on the menu.
Lovely meal at the Hand & Trumpet with work colleagues this week. We went for the Christmas Fayre menu which was very reasonable for 2/3 courses and they were all delicious! Excellent presentation and good service. Very nicely done up inside also we were sat by an open fire which was lovely!
Great location with pretty natural pond overlooked by upper decked seating area with some heated undercover seating if wanted. Traditional style decor with large dining areas but keeping that quaint appeal. Good menu choice and bar is pretty impressive with a great selection of drinks and weekly gin choice ‘ Bath tub ‘ Gin ‘ was this weeks choice.

It’s easy to tell when a place cares about the food they are serving, and they really do care at The Hand & Trumpet. Fabulous meal, and a really lovely, relaxing, airy restaurant area. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Best meal this year so far. Well done 👍🏻
Excellent quality food,with good service. Nice ambience, and a good selection of well kept beers and ales, wines and spirits. Lovely outside seating area too.
Food was excellent I had pheasant, rabbit and black pudding starter , venison haunch main and my partner had venison meatball starter and lamb main and we shared bread and butter pudding the food was just amazing
Lovely restaurant in a great location. The food was good. Well worth a visit. The fries could have been more imaginative as everything else was.
Called in on the off chance of a Sunday dinner. Although the place was busy they sorted me a table out. I had the roast beef and porchetta Sunday dinner service was very quick and the food piping hot. My only complaint is that I didn't have a big enough appetite to try one of the sweets they had on offer

This is a beautiful place. Full of lovely character, old books, vintage furniture and lovely staff. It's also clean, professional and yet still manages to be warm, friendly and cozy... ! Ideal for a romantic dinner or quick luncheon. Great for parties large and small. Lovely fire place that I bet is amazing in winter. Beautiful garden with large pond. Food was excellent. Didn't have our original choice of starter but that's just what you can expect when ordering samphire in September - shame but had the Olives to share instead and they were delicious. I had the vegetarian option (of which there are a few), Goats' cheese and roasted Mediterranean vegetable quiche with crème fraîche potato salad. The menu isn't massive but I would prefer a few things cooked fresh and done well, to mass produce and reheated any day of the week. I really would give The Hand and Trumpet 9/10 and I dont normally score highly unless I'm impressed. This place, I have to say, just makes me feel good! Well done The Hand and Trumpet!
Very very nice, helpful staff, good service and attentive, food excellent. Nice ambiance and pleasant surroundings. Will be visiting again. Plenty of parking, easily accessible.
