I have grown up going to the crown for a meal as a child with my parents and now with my own family. I thoroughly recommend the chicken tikka kebabs, fish pie and the steak and ale pie. Always delicious and you won’t be disappointed �
Well queued for 10 mins to get in but Gish was it worth the wait. Fabulous food served by friendly staff and wow with such efficiency, no messing no waiting about .
Will certainly be going there again it’s fabulous xxx

We visited for the 1st time on a recommendation we loved it great sign when we got there 20 mins before it opened people queueing outside the food was excellent all fresh there was a wait but didnt mind because it was worth the wait fantastic ales and the staff very helpful the owner works and makes sure everything is ok we will be rreturning again

Possibly our favourite place to go for a quality lunch. Usually go with my parents from Stafford who love it. Good size portions of home cooked food. Very relaxed with great service.
Delicious food as always. We had a big table of 14, the crown were excellent. All the food came out at the same time nice and hot! Lots of empty plates! Highly recommend
Went to The Crown tonight with my bestie for a treat and was not disappointed. The meal was delicious (always is) and the service was second to non! Excellent service and such a friendly atmosphere. We will be back, I might even treat the Hubby to a meal there - superb!

Had a rich fish filled fish pie with smooth mash and a cheese topping. Delicious. My wife had lambs liver with red wine. Mash and veg were tasty and nicely cooked. Good selection of ales and ciders. I'm definitely going back.
This was our first visit and certainly won't be our last! The food was exceptional with lovely generous portions and lots of choices on the menu. The staff were very professional and friendly and were very patient with us even though one of our party was held up due to road conditions meaning we were late ordering.

In over 30 years of eating here I've never been dissappointed. It's still run by the same family and all the staff are friendly and do a great job of making you welcome.
All the food is excellent, with good vegetarian and gluten-free options. I can't recommend highly enough.
Quaint and homely village pub. Parking can be a drama but there is an overspill a short walk from the pub. Great food, reasonably priced and friendly staff.

First time visiting, fantastic pub, nice friendly atmosphere, welcoming log fire, lovely food, excellent service from the landlord and Alice is a darling. Well done to the kitchen staff too. Highly recommend.
A very cosy atmosphere with equally cosy food, this place is like eating your mum's best dish in your living room. The bar staff are all lovely too. Only downside is the incredibly tight car parking, but if you get there for when it opens at 6pm it won't be a problem.
Mark & Ann were away enjoying a well earned rest during our recent visit. But due to the embedded professionalism of all the staff, you wouldn’t of known. Food, service and atmosphere lovely as always, looking forward to out next visit.
Lovely food, good sized portions and friendly service. Had the mixed grill and really enjoyed it. Would definitely return and try some of the other lovely sounding options available.
Been meaning to visit for years. The Crown has a well deserved reputation for being the best for food locally. Sunday lunch was outstanding!!! Special mention to the friendly, attentive staff, especially Jack who made our stay really special.

first time iv visited, excellent choice on the menu all home cooked dishes i had the steak pie ,with fresh veg n homemade chips it was gorgeous, will definitely return , also managed a pudding bakewell tart was also amazing, excellent foid excellent service lovely surroundings 👌
Everything about this establishment is superb.
The staff were all very friendly, the food is very good, arrives in good time and is reasonoble priced.
The only negative is that when I booked, I got asked to reply to the text message to confirm the reservation and my mobile phone provider charged this as a premium rate message so I got charged for it - watch out.

Sunday roasts were good but portions medium size, not as many sides (ie Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roasted potatoes). Desserts very tasty.
Lots of veggie options and well served so definitely recommend and will return again.

Enjoyed a quick meal here. They squeezed us in as there were only two of us. Excellent service. Very busy as food is great
They put us by the back door which we had just come through closest table to the back door so less walking and not too far from the bar as I am disabled and also the barman gave me a straw on his own merit for me at the beginning to drink when I asked for a wine glass for my water as I find it hard lifting.
We both had the fish pie and it got served with an assortment of lovely vegetables. We tried "The Crown Legend" which was tasty. I have one complaint - the Fish pie was enormous (we could have shared one) so we couldn't get dessert as we both couldn't finish our fish pies - so me being me I asked and they gave me a doggy bag which was lovely so I had the rest of mine for dinner as it was good.
The staff couldn't have been nicer. 👍
So next time I will have less of my main and save room for dessert and hopefully get a doggy bag again so I can enjoy it twice. Hehe.
