Absolutely fab food never had a bad meal. Staff are ALL polite friendly and welcoming. Hats off to the Landlady Jayne nothing is ever too much trouble.

Unsure of what this pub was going to be like/look like but was pleasantly surprised. Good pints and a cosy gaff. Jack won a few quid on the 4.40 at Aintree
Old fashioned pub. Friendly bar staff. Very busy due to a birthday party but well served with drinks and great food. Will return.
Emma the bar lady was nothing less than than exceptional,such a lovely lady,so friendly and made us feel right at home,totally lovely experience.
Always a welcome for anyone at the Gate. Landlady is superb and the staff are excellent. Atmosphere is friendly and homely.
