Just came down with my best friend haven't been in years just had the most amazing steak and mushroom pie it was done so beautiful filled the hole amazing would come again lovely friendly staff very chatting and welcoming.
Have been going to this pub/restaurant for three years now and never had a bad meal staff are excellent and very friendly the manager is also a nice chap always says hello and remembers what drinks we have keep up the good work.😀
Just returned home after a lovely meal and I can safely say I was not disappointed. Had a table of 12 guests who all had either a set menu of 2/3 courses.. plenty to choose from and reasonable prices. Service was excellent very friendly and welcoming staff who came to check that we had what we needed and if we needed more drinks etc. Think we were served by Lorraine (apologise if incorrect) she was very attentive and double checked our large order. We booked the swallows return as a meal for after a funeral in Worthing as people involved didn’t want to cater or have a large fuss and it was a lovely way to finish the day with family. Swallows return .. I will be returning!
Got turned away in the Hassocks pub who couldn't handle two walk ins at 1-05 on a weekday. Car park and resturant half full but not enough staff to feed two.
Half hour later arrived at The Swallow's Return and were offered the choice or resturant or bar service. Settled for the latter and had a great festive meal served by freindly willing staff.
Thanks Swallows saved our day.
The food was great and the service was spot on nice friendly venue I will go back. There were lots to choose from the menu. The roast beef was to die for.
Just had a family meal, was really nervous as I had just read some recent reviews! All I can say is please ignore the negative reviews, we've just had such a lovely meal. The pub is stunning, the staff very attentive and the food beautiful. Will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely relaxing Sunday afternoon
Had a very nice Sunday roast here in the upper dining area. Very nice pork belly & turkey breast with veg. Wouldn’t normally have a dessert but the banoffee and crème brûlée were delicious. Good idea to book on a Sunday.
Best roast lunch ever apart from ones I cook myself.I had the Trio of meats.
Free pudding if you join up too Absolutely delicious Honey Pot made of chocolate and Banofee Pie Well done Annabel 😁
Varied menu, the triple cooked chips are amazing. We paid £35 for 2 main courses, a bottled cider and a lemonade.
Plenty of seating indoors and out.
Dog friendly, dog bowls, water, treats and even blankets are all available in the entrance hall.
Great family meal, staff cheerful and friendly.
Food was very nice. We all had different meals, every dish looked great. We'll done to the kitchen staff for tasty food and good presentation.
Beautiful building with lots of wooden and stone character. Outside areas back and front with plenty of seating some under cover areas. Dogs are welcome and catered for with blankets to lay on. Inside is large and roomy. Toilets are upstairs with noisy music playing in them. A disabled toilet is downstairs in a slightly odd location within the restaurant. Staff are very polite and attentive. The food is excellent and plentiful. There is something for everyone on the menu. Well worth a visit.
Really good food and very helpful staff. Great coffee too! We'd heard some bad reports and were considering cancelling, but everywhere else was booked up. We were thrilled with the food and service and we will be back. And we're letting our local friends know too!
One tiny, very minor point, the sausage in bacon wasn't that nice in the Roast. Otherwise flipping perfect!!
Excellent food and first-class service. Very trendy place for a chill out time to have lunch.
Went today for lunch. Fantastic service. Red haired waiter was a very happy chappy and looked pleased to serve us, always smiled. Ribeye was £21,00 so normal price. Was delicious 😋. Atmosphere lovely. So, well done guys ❤️
Lovely interior and beautifully decorated. Its got a real classic vibe to it, I'd definitely recommend stopping here for dinner/drinks if out walking or travelling somewhere. Food is really lovely, good menu and quality ingredients. Great flavours and presentation. The only reason it missed a star is the portion size; I paid £19 for seabass and sides just to get a fillet of fish on a little mound of mash and a few broccoli florets. It was delicious but if I'm going to pay that much for a meal, I was kind of expecting it to wow me a bit more. I really like the Swallows though and I'll be back when next in the area!
Beautiful venue, staff are friendly and the food is very nice!
The food is expensive compared to other restaurants however it is worth it for a nice evening out
The new soda flavours are a great addition, definitely recommend the raspberry or blueberry flavours 👌
Great dog-friendly place to eat, drink and catch up with friends. Good food, lovely staff, nice and clean. Beautiful old barn surroundings. Lots of outdoor space too. Only downside is access when walking there from Goring, paths run out at the roundabout so take care on the road
Great waitress, she knows the menu and the drinks. The food was absolutely delicious. Beef stew followed by crumble and custard. Just what u need to warm you up. Definitely be back here.
Food was absolutely delicious and staff were all friendly and really helpful. We were celebrating a big birthday and it was perfect so I honestly can’t think of anything that needs improving
Great food in a lovely barn conversion setting. Not just normal pub fare they have some nice main dishes and desserts.
Not a complaint but just a tip - Make sure you ask where you will be seated when biking or in person as there are different parts of the building.
