We went to the restaurant for our wedding anniversary and the food was all so incredible. The lamb shoulder fell apart, the quiche was bright and refreshing, the toffee apple pavlova and apple sorbet was presented beautifully and the zing of the sorbet combined well with the biscuit and meringue. Enjoyed every mouthful. We'll be coming back as soon as we can.

A strange, magical place, one takes a left turn and drives up a hill and lands in an island of peace and quiet. Set beautifully, the hotel itself is a hidden gem. The Check in was wonderful, the room itself spacious and thoughtfully outfitted and the bath - simply glorious!!!!! Dinner was outstanding in their restaurant, the staff very polite and just great. The only drawback was the extensive gin list- over 100 different gins to choose from 😊😊😊😊..mine was very tasty. Breakfast was also excellent...all in all, a place to be recommended to anyone travelling near Worthing

We had a thoroughly enjoyable meal at the restaurant last Sunday along with six friends in part celebration of my husband's seventieth birthday. The Highdown has always been our first choice for all round comfort, quality food and top drawer staff, with Sandy in particular taking care of us on this occasion... what an absolute star she was! Top marks on all counts!!

The Highdown is a charming looking period hotel on its own extensive grounds. It is a pub and afternoon tea room along with hotel rooms. The rooms are excellent with a very spacious bathroom with walk-in rainfall shower along with a large traditional bathtub. Food was very good, all freshly made from a good selection of traditional pub style classic menu. Nice selection of ales and beers and extensive garden seating for outdoor drinks or food. Breakfast was also very good with an excellent full English option as well as a selection of breakfast pastries and cereals. Not the cheapest experience but you really do get what you pay for and I will be returning again.

Joint Anniversary meal with family. Words really cannot describe the level of customer service received on our visit today. It would only be acceptable to score this experience higher than excellent. The food was outstanding. The restaurant layout was perfect. The drink selection couldn't have been any better and the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. This visit to Highdown was made particularly special thanks to the warmth, friendly and comedic values of our waitress Sandy. She really couldn't do enough for us. We felt very blessed to receive such a personal and professional service from Sandy. From experience I have found workers such as this are very few and far between. Sandy is an absolute credit to Highdown and I surely hope that the management feel as lucky to have her as we did today. 10/10. Thank you and we will see you again soon.

A beautiful location with the most beautiful gardens that we can all walk around in for free. If walking around in beautiful gardens is not your thing then the manor house Which accompanies these gardens Is also very lovely. And the food is absolutely lovely every time I've been there. A wonderful place to spend the day.

Spent 3 nights at the Highdown to attend a birthday celebration. The location was convenient, the rooms very good and the food was delicious. What made the visit stand out was the outstanding staff. Each and every one of them was positive, upbeat and above all helpful. It was really a welcoming team they have assembled. Thanks for looking after us!

Went to the restaurant with family for a birthday meal at 19:00. Arrived and promptly seated to the table. Lovely, spacious restaurant with seating inside and out. The staff were very professional and extremely friendly. Food menu changes frequently so online is a sample menu. We had main course priced from about Β£17-20 and desserts priced at about Β£7-9. Overall I would say very good quality for the price. Venue was spotlessly clean, bathroom facilities very high standard. Highly recommended but book early if you want main restaurant as often fully booked.

My wife and I had Sunday lunch at The Highdown restaurant today. From the moment we arrived the staff were polite, attentive and very helpful. My wife had the vegan roast and I had the roast belly pork, we also had desserts. The food was superb very well presented and a delight to eat. Whilst we were there the manager Richard showed me around the various rooms as we wanted to book somewhere for a birthday lunch. Needless to say I would recommend this place to anyone. Some have said it’s expensive, we both disagree as the prices are similar to our local pub in Findon.

Reservation for lunch only. Menu varied and well priced. Group of 6 went. They cater for larger parties if booked in advance. Staff good and helpful. Lovely Manor house in a lovely setting.

Arrived at the hotel was greeted by a gentleman called Callum who was professional and extremely helpful. Taking our case to our room and showing us around. All staff were very polite and couldn't do enough for us.

I didn't stay here but did have lunch the other day. Lovely setting and lovely bar. BUT very expensive and I had lunch with a friend and her husband so we split the bill. I gave the waitress the money for my half of the bill and she left with the money and never came back with the change. So don't expect any change. How dare you just assume you can keep the money. Very strange. Never had that happen anywhere before. Wont be returning.

Superb room and one of the best breakfasts we've had. Terrific location with walks through the beautiful gardens and over the Downs directly from the hotel. The staff were friendly and attentive, despite it being an exceptionally busy day for them. We look forward to staying there again.

Staff make this place very special , Serina and Alex made you feel important and special , there mannerism and personality were exceptional. As was all the staff at breakfast and evening meal . The little cafe which look after the travellers It is set in a beautiful part of Surrey with the South Downs on the doorstep. Close to Worthing and Littlehampton which are lovely to explore. Just celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Highdown. I would like to thank Tom, Head Chef, and all his team, for all the truly delicious meals. Also for the lovely decorated dessert plates, really appreciated. Also to our lovely waitress, Sandy, for her excellent service. We will definitely be coming back.
