The perfrect country pub. The Calf's Head at Worston nr. Clitheroe is the perfect country pub. A traditional Inn, located in beautiful countryside at the foot of Pendle Hill, they combine a country house hotel, restaurant and pub on one site. The walled gardens are wonderful, with a stream flowing through them complete with resident ducks. You can eat inside the pub, outside in the garden, or in the massive conservatory. There is a great variety of food, and they adopt a pic n mix approach where you can any combination you like. There is something for everyone. Food is great. There is unfortunately one down-side: the popularity of the place is also it's undoing and you may well find they are full with a queue to get a table. It is a popular venue for weddings. It may be better to ring ahead and reserve if it is for a special occasion. Highly recommended. Open all day, every day.

The Calf's Head is one of he best pubs i have been to in years. It mixes traditional pub-like atmosphere, and wholesome food with a relaxed mood. Perfect for drinks, bar snacks or even a hotel room, the Calf's Head is briliant.

We had our first visit here yesterday 7th October, we had an overnight stay. Beautiful village pub in a beautiful location. Staff was lovely and very attentive, food was outstanding, our room was lovely and warm, bed was very comfortable, bed linen was lovely and clean the room also. Tea tray had a decent amount of teas, coffee, hot chocolate etc. Shower was lovely and hot, didn't want to get out. We was greeted when we came down for breakfast, breakfast was lovely. We really enjoyed our stay. A big thumbs 👍 up to you all xxx

Lovely village pub. Huge picturesque beer garden with great food to go with it. I had the braised steak which was cooked just to my liking. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. The chips were chunky, fluffy on the inside and cooked very well. Excellent - would highly recommend visiting when the suns out and sitting outside.

Called in for a meal without booking and was offered a table immediately. Ordered the home made Cheese Pie which was excellent. We enjoyed our visit so much that we made a further booking for the week before Christmas 🎄

Had a meal at The Calf’s Head which was lovely we’ve never been disappointed always had amazing food and service. I would like to make a comment concerning the guy who is in charge, i’m sorry but we love him he has a dry wit which is good. He’s attentive misses nothing which is an excellent attribute in hospitality. He’s lovely with our granddaughter who also thinks he’s funny.

This pub has a lovely welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. The food is excellent and plenty of it! We also had our wedding reception here a few years ago, and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended ❤️

Stopped off as a random place to grab a coffee and some lunch on way home. Amazing place. Deceptively large, lovely dining room with conservatory, spacious and comfy. Friendly staff, food was really tasty with some big portions. Obviously a hit with locals and non-locals. Will certainly be back at some point.

My last visit was pre-pandemic when I stayed at the hotel. This was a visit with a group of friends for lunch. The downstairs of the hotel has been tastefully refurbished and is lovely. Food is excellent and freshly cooked. Good array of real ales. Service was excellent and friendly. Overnight D, B &B is currently £135.00, which for the food, service and location is definitely value for money.

We visited here way before Covid & I might be wrong but we thought the place had changed hands. We were disappointed that day for a variety of reasons. But time is a great healer & so we decided to go back for my wife's birthday. Wow, wow, wow! What a difference. The place has had a makeover & it looks great. We were an hour early for the restaurant opening but was invited to sit & enjoy a drink. We were then invited into the massive conservatory & taken to our table. The menu was extensive & the food was plentiful and delicious but what made our evening was the way we were treated by the staff. Every single one of them was polite, respectful, freindly & really helpful. A brilliant evening for my wife's birthday. Upon paying our bill, I remarked that it had been a long time since we had been there but it won't be be long before you see us again! Great place & I'm already recommending the wonderful Calfs Head to our family & all our friends.

Had an excellent Lancashire theme meal. Nicely presented with large portions. It was busy when i went so booking would be advisable. I went with a G-line coach trip so i just bought the trip and left the organising to thrlem.

What a find! Warm and welcoming with a relaxed vibe. The room was spacious and clean with a sizeable en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was hearty with plenty of choice and the village is picturesque and tranquil. We will definitely be back!
