Returned to the Briery yesterday for our weekly mid-week lunch with family, after the Christmas break - so lovely to be able to get a good quality roast dinner anytime rather than just on a Sunday. The Turkey and Beef Roast was absolutely gorgeous - a proper homemade hearty meal!!! Fantastic value for money lunchtimes Monday to Friday because when you purchase a main meal from the menu you are offered a free dessert!! and there are a lot of lovely dishes to choose from as well as the roast, pie and curry of the day! We thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it and can't praise the staff enough - they really do go out of their way to make sure you get a really warm welcome and also go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need and that you are enjoying your meal - just like a home from home - well done everyone for making a visit to the Briery a really enjoyable and satisfying experience!!!
Had a beautiful Christmas meal tonight. The food & service were excellent. I would highly recommend a visit to the Briery. Millie & the team are a real credit. Thankyou for a lovely experience. We will be back without a doubt.

Nice lunchtime meal with a free dessert thrown in. The biggest gammon steak I've ever had, hardly had room for the Cumberland sausage and proper chips.
Me and my friend came for dinner on friday afternoon the food was lovley we never had a bad word to say about it and you even got a free pudding with your main meal 10/10
Came for lunch today with my partner and 2 childen brilliant service from all 3 staff colouring book and pens brought out for the children small issue with a drink but sorted with out a second thought we had the 8.85 special I he lasagna chips and salad then lemon tart 10/10 for both my partner had scampi and chips then dark chocolate cherry cheesecake he didn't leave bite so 10/10 my son had a roast lamb dinner and left a clean plate and said it was beautiful followed by cheesecake he's said 9/10 because he wanted more my small daughter just had a bit if everyone's so they brought us a side plate for her would alsorts like to give the 3 girls 10/10 for there service today will definitely be back very soon

long time since been to Briery, only live 15mins away, great atmosphere while watching footy good banter and lovely pint o guinness... outside space on a nice sunny day topped it off cheers, will be back again soon.

It has sufficient parking. Simple but effective Covid restrictions and we'll spaced tables.
Portion sizes are reasonable. Food is of a good quality.
For starters we had 2 lots of garlic mushrooms with creamy sauce and topped with cheese, served with a slice of garlic bread. Another starter was black pudding and haggis stack with peppercorn sauce. The final starter was king prawns in a chilli sauce. All were fully eaten and enjoyed.
For mains one person has a lamb roast dinner which came with 2 Yorkshire puddings and mash, vegetables and gravy. I had vegetable curry with half rice and half chips with a side order of vegetables. K had chicken curry with half rice and half chips with vegetables. The final main was prawn linguine. Again all meals were fully eaten and enjoyed

There were six people in our group and everyone really enjoyed their meal. Clean plates all round. The service was great both the food and bar service. It was a good atmosphere and in nice surroundings.

When we arrived it was very busy and we thought we would have a long wait but the staff took our orders quickly and the food was served far quicker than expected. The food was piping hot and delicious. The staff were friendly, professional and very efficient. We'd definitely recommend here and will be back.

Beautiful New Years Day lunch. Cannot fault the food or service. The pub was unusually quiet though. Go every New Year and its normally very busy. Shame. Worth a visit. Highly recommend
Good choice of food, quite busy, best to book in advance, food was piping hot on arrival and presented beautifully. Desserts judt as tasty everything fresh. Highly recommended 5 stars

The staff went above and beyond everytime we went in (they even remembered what drinks we had) and the food was out of this world!!
The prices were very reasonable and we were never waiting long for our food either which always came out fresh and piping hot.

Food lovely, traditional pub grub. Portions huge so make sure you are hungry before you go. Prawn cocktail tasted great and gammon comes with all the trimmings and then some. Only drawback is we were sat next to the door so was a bit busy with people coming in and out . Service good and nothing was too much trouble.
