This is all that a good pub should be, good selection of ales, friendly staff and great live music.
I was specifically there for the music festival
If it wasn't nearly two hundred miles away from where I live I would be a regular!
Never to my knowledge been to this pub but want to say thank you to the landlord for his stance on racist abuse. Pub banter is a stereotypical situation for talk of this kind, but you are so right, it has no place anywhere in a decent society. Thank you for being decent, honourable and brave enough to confront the abusers. Next time I'm in the area I'll make sure to drop in for a drink!
The minute we walked into the pub we were made to feel very welcome by Ted Marshall, the landlord. We were there as Ryan Webb had been selected to play as part of Worcester Music Festival. The staff and the punters were very welcoming too. Ted told us about the many reasons why the Cap n Gown is very well known. A great experience! Highly recommended!

Good town pub with a local feel. We went in on a Friday and it was very lively. With a great DJ who had everyone dancing. And as it's a Hook Norton pub my DH was happy with the beer 😉
Ted's place, great quality booze with a decent fellow to run the show. Nice chilled atmosphere, not the cheapest place but then the good ones understandably never are.
Read a book, sit and chat, listen to some music, have a coffee or even a beer, it's what a real pub is all about. Ted's place.
I always like dropping in for a pint and a lively chat with ted . He runs a great small pub and live band venue that is worth our support !
