Went for carvery on Easter Sunday and was not disappointed, carvery had a good range of meat and vegiterian options, as well as a really good range of vegetables. All of it was hot and looked / tasted fresh. The kids menu had enough on it to feed the kids and they were happy. While we did not eat off the standard menu we did look at it and it had a good range of options all along the lines of what you would expect of a gastro pub. We will go back and try the normal menu although a mid week car wry is offered.

Wide open car park just off the main road. Easy to park. Pub entrance wide enough for wheelchairs and staff at reception desk really good. A minor hiccup over the online booking if a table was sorted by the manager who found a table for us. Our table server was lovely. She was open smiley and genuine. Drinks order taken whilst we looked at the menu. There were two or three other options on the menu but on a Sunday the reason we were there was for the carvery. £16 may sound a lot but on reflection it was worth it. Atmosphere, setting and overheads considered, £16 per head was reasonable when the selection was viewed. Three choices, beef, ham, turkey with or without a Yorkshire pudding with 12 trays of optional veg, including: Cabbage, broccoli, parsnips, peas,.carrots, pomme dauphinois, red cabbage, swede mash, stuffing balls and mashed potatoes. Plenty of gravy and options for cranberry sauce etc also available. Tasted really good. Table service was charming during and after our meal. Toilets clean and fu ctio al I'd recommend this as good family orientated carvery location. Note that at the time of writing, close after 5 on a Sunday although revised opening from September, so check to avoid disappointment. Well worth a visit

Table of 8 for octogenarian birthday. We were on the dark side. Noisy as busy and struggled re conversations. Service OK but nothing special. Food good but some of it lukewarm. Strange taste to brulee but should have chosen something else. My mistake. Service charge added but took off when asked.

WOULD COME AGAIN! AND HAVE BEEN AGAIN! Came with some friends tonight we had a sirloin steak, bbq ribs, the plough burger. Everyone mentioned how good the chips were I was overall impressed with the food just felt my burger bun was over done for most of the company's liking, and our sticky toffee puddings were very wet with little resistance to movement. Overall tastes great and was please with the service given and promptly served, not long of a waiting time.

Well kept ale, excellent food and good service. A little quiet, but the open fire helped the atmosphere.
