The Anchor Inn - Wooler - Photo album

What a pub. Never felt so welcome. Had the best laugh. And the food was amazing. Although we came last in the quiz we loved it. Also a bonus we won the bingo. Chris and Jeff what a pleasure to meet you both.
Great bar and great staff. Lively customers having a great time, very friendly and sociable. Food available some nights till late so great if you arrive late.
Great little pub in Wooler. Make sure to get in before 4:30 on a Saturday though as it gets very busy for the weekly bingo. Have had Sunday lunch in here on a few occasions too and they're great. Massive portions.
Stopped at this little pub on a weekend away at the caravan park just down the road. Can't recommend this pub any more. Its spot on we had a Sunday dinner here and it was out standing but book early as it gets very busy. If in wooler do here for a Sunday lunch.
Food is excellent. Make sure you take a good appetite with you as the portions are huge 😊
Friendly cosy pub that welcomes your dog too. Food and drink selection great. Will be back when passing through again!
Big shout out to Chris who made my Cousin and I feel special, what’s not to luv about table service with a smile. Loved the commaderie and the atmosphere. Chris went out of his way to make 2 strangers welcome. We loved the bingo on Saturday night (19 November 2022) obviously a bonus with Linda winni
Unassuming little pub with surprisingly fantastic food and lovely staff. The Sunday dinner was extremely good value for money - the platter of veg alone was massive! The beef was melt in your mouth tender. Absolutely can't be beat. Particularly fabulous after a day out walking in the beautiful North
Fantastic home cooked Sunday lunch. The beef was superb, plenty of veg and luscious thick gravy. Only £8 for a large dinner. Absolutely outstanding. Staff were so friendly too. Can't wait to come back!
Absolutely first rate Sunday lunch. Reasonably priced too. Landlord was so welcoming and friendly. Staff were very helpful.
Excellent pub with friendly staff and the food was perfect. We brought our dog and he was looked after as much as we were! The chef was very accommodating with my dietary requirements and the atmosphere of the whole place was positive and uplifting! Great for watching sport too but still family frie
Staff are nice and friendly so are the customers. We enjoyed the pub quiz and loved that it was dog friendly. The food let us down though. Two of us ordered the cheese and onion pie. Both of them were served to us cold in the middle. It was also quite bland seasoning needs to be added as it didn't t
We were looking for somewhere to go for Sunday lunch and picked this just by chance. It is bigger inside than It looked. Sunday lunch was gorgeous and staff really friendly
Been in this pub so many times for a number of years whilst away, but yesterday we decided to eat there for the first time. The food was tasty, it was excellent value for money, the portion size was huge and it came out in good time. Genuine 5* star review!
Beautiful little pub, great staff, great food very reasonably priced, good sized portions. Will definitely be back when we back up that way.
Lovely Sunday lunch and very friendly staff.
Lovely polite friendly pub..great atmosphere.. landlord made us feel welcome..food outstanding excellent.. thank you
My favourite pub when in Wooler. Great food, ample amounts and at a good price. Also has Sam smiths sovereign on so that seals the deal for me
A basic locals' pub, old but no particular style, not that many beers on offer. The music (on a Saturday night to be fair) was also very loud. Gets 4 stars for friendly service, cheap prices, and a good range of whisky!
