What an amazing find this gem is! Beautiful beer garden, great friendly staff and the food was delicious, the best hot beef and onion in gravy sandwich I have ever eaten…. Thick slices of perfectly cooked beef onion and rich gravy on thick toasted bread (brown or white option) thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful.
Washed down with an Amstel which was perfect.
Had lunch in the Wheatsheaf, very quiet, hence atmosphere score. I ordered gammon, beautifully cooked, served with chips, egg, peas & pineapple-- couldn't fault it, the chips were great. My husband had fish & chips, again the chips were good but the fish only just ok. He had the chocolate fudge cake & enjoyed that. Lovely staff, reasonable price, would go again.
Is this a hidden gem or a local treasure? The pub itself has been a local main stay for years and now has new ownership which does not disappoint. It felt like a personal service with a smile and conversation with the food being absolutely delicious and filling. Would definitely recommend reserving a table in advance 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
What a fantastic host Kelly is. From entering the pub to leaving she was most attentive. The food is of very exceptional quality and the drinks were absolutely tasty.
Excellent value for money and served in very nice surroundings.
Definitely will return.
Good lunchtime. Pleasant and efficient landlady. Food well presented, hot, well cooked. Nice country pub.
Absolutely lovely. Went with my mum and dad food was spot on and the staff warming and welcoming everything was just spot on definitely worth a visit will be treating my wife for a date day and Sunday lunch thank you
This is our second visit to this pub and most definitely will not be our last. The staff are lovely and the Steak pie is to die for. Well worth a visit
Always amazing food and lovely staff, they do a great Sunday Roast, we've been back multiple times!
Pie and chips was great.
Also do decent gluten free options.
Very reasonable prices.
Good traditional pub!
Went for Sunday lunch with my wife. We had a starter each and a roast beef dinner. The food was absolutely delicious with generous portion sizes. The staff were attentive and polite which made for a nice relaxed time.
If there was one small negative, it was that the service was a little slow, but after all who wants to rush on a Sunday?
Absolutely stunning food first time here great service amazing food very tempted to lick the plate clean sooo good 🥰
Very nice pub, food excellent and good service, staff very friendly, and dog's allowed.
Can't beat the quality and quantity for the price point. Good atmosphere, quirky little building with friendly staff. Food portions were great, the taste was good and it was cheap! A good pub lunch.
Lovely atmosphere, country style pub, roaring fire, dog friendly, all the staff were very nice and welcoming & made a fuss of our dog. Beer was well kept also. A bit disappointed as we tried to order fish & chips after seeing people eating but despite closing the kitchen at 2000 they wouldn't do f&c for us at 1940. So I'll reserve a star until I've tried the food. We do intend to return.
Our go to place for lunch. Good pub grub with well kept beers.
Great atmosphere, warm and cosy in winter with an open fire. Outside area for summer and pool table, darts for sport. Food is great and sourced from a tip butchers called Honeywells. Will be here again soon
Kelly and her team are fantastic hosts serving excellent food in lovely surroundings at very reasonable prices.
This is a lovely little pub and the food is absolutely delicious! It’s a small and cosy traditional pub with very friendly staff. I would suggest booking for a meal at the weekend as they get extremely busy.
