The best food we have eaten in a long time! Highly recommend, service very good too. We will be returning.
Visited for roast dinner couple of weeks ago on the grand reopening day and lunch was stunningly good, think they have recruited a top chef, then visited last evening to find a great atmosphere, live music, lots of friendly people enjoying cocktails and having fun so a big well done to the new owner and his team
Great country pub. Have eaten there 2 nights as hotel we're in only serve an expensive a la carte menu. Food is lovely, very dog friendly and friendly locals.
Just reopened after a major refitting. Lovely bar area and garden patio. Well worth a visit if you’re in the forest �

A great find whilst on holiday. Searched local pubs for a quick dinner nearby. It was just past 8pm and whilst others stopped food at that time, this pub was 9pm and they booked a table for us straight away. I took my 10 year old daughter and young dog - both got a lot of attention. They are very dog friendly and also good choice being I am vegetarian - especially Sunday roast. There was a singer performing and she was really good. Staff were very friendly. Food was great. Had such a good time, we booked for a Sunday lunch the next day and had the same experience. As we are nearby often, it will be a regular choice. I would definitely recommend.
It is a nice place to have some food with the family and to go out with friends in the evening.
Beautifully decorated pub, friendly staff and food that is out of this world! Having eaten at many a pub/restaurant I can hands down say that the food here is beautiful and well priced....perfect portion sizes! Children's play area is great and loads of outdoor seating for relaxed drinks or alfresco dining! Please make this pub a must for any day dining ..... but especially a Sunday Roast!

Pure fun! Most welcoming atmosphere in town, not to mention their food. I totally recommend it! Perfect choice if you're looking for an authentic public house bed and breakfast inn
Nice atmosphere with lovely bar staff. Nothing is never a problem. Genuine people that really do care. Something very rare these days. They just want people to have the best time. Plus the pub is beautiful.
After walking our dog in the new forest we stopped in this pub with our foster son aged 11 that struggles to sit still, but to his and our delight there’s a field at the back that he could run around in with the dog. This enabled him to sit long enough to have a family meal and listen to the wonderful singer. Something we never get the opportunity to do.

Had a really nice meal. Staff attentive and friendly. Given wrong bill at the end of the night which we didn't check. Went back next morning and got it sorted without any fuss whatsoever. And I got a free drink while discussing. So fair play and we will be back. Thanks for sorting without fuss.

We hadn't been here for some years and I believe the name and ownership has changed but we were really impressed by our whole experience from the start.
A very friendly lady took our booking on the phone and reserved us a table in the dog friendly part of the restaurant. Our food was excellent and we all found several options on the menu that we fancied before changing our minds and ordering from the specials board. I requested a slightly different side and they did this for me with no problem.
There were quite a few people in watching football on TV but it was a nice atmosphere, the beer was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals. Everything came out together and correct, all the staff were lovely to us and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Many thanks for a great evening :)
I turned up when they were closing the kitchen. From what I saw was great food on the tables.
Delicious home cooked roast. Very generous portions we took a doggy box away. We will be back.

We only ended up here because the pub we had intended to use has stopped offering food. But we are now glad we have discovered this out of the way gem! Excellent home cooked meals at a sensible price, good beer (Wadsworth's), and friendly service. We will definitely continue to come here when we meet up with our friends as a half way point, and only wish we lived nearby!

Before I moved away, 15 years ago. It's better than ever now, good food, good beer, lively,nice outdoor area.
Lovely atmosphere, really welcoming. We were staying locally at Spot in the Woods for one night for a short break and this pub was walking distance so we popped in for some food and drinks, really reasonably priced for food and food quality. Will definitely visit again if in the area!
