I have eaten here twice now, once at lunch and once for dinner in the restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing and I would highly recommend to anyone. All the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
What a hidden gem! If you’re looking for somewhere with charm and character where the staff greet you with a friendly smile and the food is home cooked and all freshly prepped on site this is definitely for you. The value for money is second to none. Not only great food but an all round great dining experience.

Friendly village pub, great welcoming atmosphere. Top notch fresh grub.
For a pub we found by accident, this was an excellent way to finish off our day.
We literally pulled up and walked in, greeted as if we were regulars. There was a great atmosphere in there. Got the impression all the staff liked working there and the service was excellent. Good selection of ales.
Decent menu’s including the specials.
Highly recommend the Salmon and prawn kebab and the Stilton Burger.
Will definitely go there again, next time I am in the area.

The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. They are all a credit to the business.
The food was stonking, the Wheatfsheaf Smokies were gorgeous and a revelation.
The beer is well kept with a good selection.

Highly recommend. Such a lovely welcome! We hadn't booked, and they worked very hard to fit us (and our little dog) in, without making a big deal at all. ALL of the staff we encountered were incredibly friendly, helpful, efficient. We both had burgers - halloumi burger for me - which had the most delicious herb salad dressing, and chicken/avocado and bacon burger for my husband. Both burger dishes were top notch!
What a lovely country pub. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The Sunday roast was divine. We'll definitely be going back again , very soon .
Sunday lunch was delicious. I had the lamb and my partner had the pork. One of best roasts we've had in a long time. Well worth it!

Beautifully crafted food. A very classy country pub. Drinks were cheaper than expected and the Christmas dinner was something special. I can see why this place is so popular!
Had the lamb pie, jacket potato and fish and chips. The lamb pie was full of meat, veggies and flavours. Great dish for a winter lunch. I would highly recommend this place -- especially because of the Christmassy decor
Fantastic eatery and excellent staff who are a credit to the place, owner very nice and genuine ensuring all guests are felt valued and looked after, ordered mixed roast as I couldn't decide which meat to order and it was delightful, followed up with the Caramel Panna cotta which was very nice and melted in the mouth. Highly recommended nothing is to much trouble, recommend booking though as can get very busy.
Lovely place to dine (tables in corners give privacy) but it's all about the food, right?
The Wheatsheaf has a longish specials board that supplements a standard pub menu. Over four meals on two visits, the specials dishes were better quality than the standard menu.
Unfortunately my dinner companion didn't enjoy his (standard menu: burger) much so don't think we'll be going again soon.
My fish dish was delightful.
Charnwood Brewery ale is great.
From stepping through the door the relaxed atmosphere makes you feel you should be here. All of the staff make sure you feel welcome, and set you at ease. The menu is not a massive one but the choices were there and any that was unavailable is advised from the offset. Hubby had fish pie,& the filling was phenomenal. Lots of fish.. which can sometimes be minimal in a lot of places ...lots of sauce & plenty of mash on the top. I had cod & chips... again lots of both...the fish was a decent size & the chips were chunky rather than fries.... absolutely hit the spot. Definitely going again...and for you people out there take a chance,you won't regret it.
We popped in for a quick drink. The place had a homely feel and very welcoming. The food looked fantastic, so we will be back soon to sample what you have on the menu.
