Just visited The Ship for tea tonight, and the food was fantastic. Garlic mushrooms were 'excellent' - high praise from someone who usually describes food as 'alright'! The lamb tagine was absolutely delicious, as was the cod. We will definitely be returning and would recommend a visit.
Came in with the family delicious meals... Great service and friendly staff. Definitely recommend and will be back.

A huge thanks to Michael and Kendra at The Ship Inn for accommodating 8 people quite late on at short notice for Sunday lunch today (Dec 4th). The food and hospitality were fantastic and very reasonably priced. Our first time here but not our last.
Fabulous meal for New Year's Eve! Staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble and the food was delicious! My diet is ruined!! Looking forward to coming back soon! Xx

Called in on Tuesday night. Plenty of parking at the back of the ship inn. First impressions were very good and the staff were warm and friendly. The drinks were reasonably priced. The decor was really good and a bit quirky. I really liked the 3 duck figures on the window sill . We had the Groupon for 4 steaks and the steaks were all really good as was the rest of the meal. The only disappointment was the service was a little slow. . This was not because the service was poor, it was because they were busy serving other people.
I was told it's under new management who have upgraded the decor, my impression after my first visit.
Nice homely feel to the place, pleasant and comfortable.
Not too busy so the Chef actually came out to chat about our preferences, pointing out that the Menu is only a guide, if we want something special and he has the ingredients he's willing to cook it, never come across that level of commitment before, laudable.
One massive plus was his noting that if we are able to give several days notice he can get in Wagyu steak, so we have booked our table for the next visit.

After deciding to visit the Ship we read the reviews on a couple of sites and nearly changed our minds. I am so glad we didn't!! The food is amazing, well presented and bursting with flavours that only homemade can produce. The staff are friendly and polite and the service very good. We visited mid week which probably helped with the quickness of delivery, but no one should expect that at peak times. Will definitely be back.
We celebrated our Grandsons birthday here.The setting is dated but the food makes up for it. The steaks were cooked to perfection, the onion rings and vine tomatoes were superb also the gammon was brilliant. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Would go again.
We've just had 2 of the best pub meals we've ever had in a lovely warm welcoming setting. Seafood tagliatelle and burger with chips. Totally gorgeous, 10/10. Would fully recommend and will be back soon.
Great Sunday lunch. New chefs are excellent & owner, Carl, is very fussy about meat & fish sourcing. Top quality wines, esp. Spanish range from El Toro Wines. Great gin bar. And dog-friendly. Our black lab, Bella loves it.
Lovely pub, lovely food but I felt sorry for the guy behind the bar, he was literally a one man band. The only thing he didn't do was cook the food. All he needed was a brush up his backside and he could have done the cleaning as well. Seriously though, a very enjoyable meal.
It's a real cosy pub with friendly staff. I haven't eaten here for a while, so went for the chicken parmo as a safe bet, but was surprised how well prepared and nice it was. No dry overcooked edges good bechamel sauce and cheese coverage. The chips and coleslaw were good to and complimented the chicken. Value for money was average. Recommend that you give it a try.
Fabulous afternoon tea. The Ship had been brilliantly redecorated. Very helpful and friendly Staff . The evening meals are very well priced and the spaghetti carbonara was delicious . Good luck to all concerned with the reopening of this wonderful pub.
Unfortunately the menu was not good and varied from our last visit. New menu but the meals my son and I ordered fish and chips with mushy pea aand the spaghetti bolognese both good. Good selection of beers. Service was good and was good.
Enjoyed our meal here, even my dad couldn't manage the whole plate - so it must have been a good portion. Wolviston is a lovely village to walk around after the meal.
Good start. So far, excellent. Good variety of beers & well kept. Only had lasagne so far, but very fresh and tasty. Partner loved her tagine.
Sunday roast, really nice and delicious cheesecake to follow!! Seemed a popular place, staff friendly and service efficient! Would go back to try different dishes!!
Under new management and looks very nice. Staff friendly and enthusiastic. Just had a drink. The menu looks very interesting so will return.

Had a gorgeous home made steak pie with shortcuts pastry & the best cheesecake for after, would highly recommend. Reasonably priced & good service.
