Went for Sunday lunch last week. Really tasty all round.
One beef and one turkey roast. Meat was incredible!! Roasties were amazing! One steak, ale and Stilton pie which was really good too.
2 rhubarb crumbles and one cheese board. All enjoyed!!!
Definitely will go back again!
(Only thing would be to check if the table wanted any sauces before moving on to the next table - it's so busy on Sundays we were half way through before we could get someone who was free)
Great sized portions. Hubby had steak and Stilton pie and it was scrumptious with gorgeous big chips. I had the blade of beef and it melted off the fork. Loved the fact there is a menu for your dog friends - brilliant. Lovely service and a great pint too, what more could you ask for.
Great little pub. Busy but they squeezed us in at no notice. Nice food friendly staff. Decent ale too. Recommended.

Ordered our food which came out really quick, piping hot and delicious.

Older traditional pub with the most amazing @frankparker ribeye steak. It cut like butter and just melted in the mouth. Best steak I've had in a long time, thanks guys

Great food and friendly atmosphere. There in a large group, food was excellent and cooked to how I like it, not always easy when producing over 20 meals at the same time.

Working away again with some time in between so thought I pop into a local pub on the way back down. I heard this place was good so thought I would give it a go. The pub is a husband and wife team consisting of Trina and Brian.
In a village outside Hinckley called Wolvey, there's plenty of parking. Social distancing was fully maintained inside this pub.
A varied menu was on offer with many items to choose from.
Service was very quick and prompt here.
Today we have the following;
Starter: Lamb Kofta - simple but effective dish. Cooked well done. Tasted great!
Main: Gammon Steak 8oz Chips Pineapple and Peas
Classic dish at the pub and one of my favs. Chips were large and crisly. Gammon cooked well with little fat visible.
Dessert: Vanilla ice cream sundae.
3 scoops, whipped cream and a flake. Classic 99 recipe right there. Smooth and rich in flavour.
Great value for money coming in at Β£13.90 after the discount with one drink

Both Trina + Brian are actively working and talking to customers so its nice to see this touch. Always great to support the independent pubs. There was a lovely girl who also appeared to be training and starting out with their support.

Food was amazing! All homemade and made to order and simply fantastic. It was quite busy though and the restaurant was full so service was a little haphazard. We were asked if ready to order food within few mins of getting there, but had to ask for drinks and then she didn't come back for our food order for quite a while and we had to call over. No refresh of drinks offered until we ordered dessert. But they were friendly when we asked how long it would be and made a point of making sure we were updated after that. Overall, happy to go there again, but will make sure it's a chilled lunch and no deadlines.
Happy to have an afternoon off in this quaint pub with delicious food though! π
