Very clean, the atmosphere was very pleasant music at a nice relaxing pace, nicely decorated with nice relaxing lighting. The staff Midge and James were very friendly and professional and paid attention to detail especially with our request, everything we asked for we got, the food was hot when served and tasted really good, we also had a takeaway for our daughter and she said the food was of good standard. We will return and hope others read our review and give Spice River a try and enjoy their own experience.
A rare Sunday night out for us. It was naturally a bit quiet however we both had an excellent meal. This and very friendly service made it a very pleasant experience. We even enjoyed the music!
I've been waiting... impatiently, it seemed, for Zaffran to open, driving passed it daily whilst under going renovation and always looking for hints of the grand opening. Well the doors opened on 29th April 2019 and I had to work lates! Almost 1 week later my wife and I finally got to experience Zaffran's fine cuisine, friendly staff and cosy fresh atmosphere. It was a pleasure to see so much more on offer than the usual dishes and they were truly delicious. As with a lot of restaurants nowadays, it's worth remembering to bring your own alcoholic beverages, though they do sell a selection of soft drinks.

A very clean and well maintained restaurant the staff we're very polite and professional. We ordered over 15 dishes and they all were served at the same time. The food looked great and tasted even better 👍👍👍
Having eaten in the restaurant I was worried about trying a delivery from there as they never are quite as good and I was worried it would put me off returning, I should not have been worried at all, I have probably just eaten the best delivered Indian food ever, and i’ve had a few lol Well done to Spice River, there are soooo many average to poor offerings locally but these lot have nailed it, hope the quality continues.
Really nice and clean, food very tasty and friendly staff, have been here quite a lot, always a great time, however recently returned to find soft drinks no longer allowed to be bought in by yourself, whilst I dont mind purchasing the soft drinks here, I did feel a little ripped off, it was almost £4.00 for a large coca cola, this was poured from 2 cans of pop,, so I felt this to be rather expensive, its not as if they have pumps to maintain, also my glass didn't completely empty the two cans, but I was not offered the remainder of which I had paid for. So yes, great night, great food, great service, but really don't like being ripped off for the drinks, which I have to have as I'm the driver of our group, cheaper to bring your own alcohol. Sorry gents at spice river, not your fault, it's a management issue.

Very friendly waiters and excellent service. Menu is very good, all the popular regular dishes catered for and some very tempting specials. Difficult choices as so much selection. No licenced bar. Prices also very reasonable. My kids are fussy eaters but when we take them they love the food.
Mij and the boys have done a wonderful job turning this outdated place back to life!! Honestly have been using spice river for at least a year and not a bad word to say. Tremendous, some of the best lamb chops I have ever had and the Tandoori Mixed grill is to die for!! such a friendly team and make you feel very welcome and at home. Can’t wait to go back.

The only "classic" sit down restaurant worth visiting in the local area.
With the influx of Nepalese & Indian bar a grills. Broadening of the taste buds and standards. It's the only restaurant that is comparable.
Take your own drink, good food and service. What more can you ask?
I wouldn't reccomend it, if it wasnt good.
