This has been our family’s all time favourite restaurant for many years. The food is proper home cooked food and not the microwave meals you get in many chain pubs. The staff are friendly and welcoming (especially Viv who welcomes at the front desk). Really can’t fault the place. Always have to book well in advance because always busy.

The first time , I visited, but I have driven past many times. Good idea to pre-book ahead as it can be busy. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good choice of food. You order at the bar. We had no cutlery at our table and had to ask for some. I thought that the desserts were expensive, as they were around £10 each.

First time visiting last night, this place comes highly recommended by friends - and they were absolutely right It's in a cracking location, with plenty of parking. Also has a sizeable play area which you don't see very often in pubs. The menu is varied and well priced, service was impeccable - first time I've ever had my order double checked before it was made. Which was a nice touch. Ordered a side of fries... expecting a small bowl and instead got a huge plate full - and the mains we also huge. So often now you go onto pubs and it's all basic food, made mostly by microwave. This was the first one in ages that you could tell had been freshly made on site. Will 100% be back. Thanks for having us!

Came here last night as a group of 6 (4 adults, 2 children). Love the country pub feel and the pub felt very cosy and welcoming. Service was good throughout the evening and didn't have to wait long for the food. We ordered; Mega fox burger Steak sizzler Salmon sizzler 2 x chicken fajitas Homemade cottage pie Cheesy garlic bread Chocolate fudge cake Brownie Sunday All the food was amazing! Hot and fresh and good sized portions. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the 'two for one' menu prices. It's not 2 for 1 when the prices for 1 meal are so expensive. A lasagne is priced at £27! Yes, you get 2 meals for that price but I don't understand why they just don't have a normal priced menu. It also doesn't work well for some families. For example, my daughters are aged 4 and 11. My eldest is too old for a kids menu now so orders from the main menu. This is where the 2 for 1 doesn't work as my youngest has something from the kids menu. That means that one of us would be left paying extortionate prices for our meal as we wouldn't qualify for the 2 for 1. So we had to order an adults burger for my 4 year old so we didn't end up paying over £20 for a cottage pie and then having to pay for the kids meal on top! Luckily my daughter wanted a burger. If she had wanted nuggets, fishfingers etc we wouldn't have been able to make this work. Overall, we had a lovely time, but I really think the menu prices need revising to enable everyone to have value for money.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate in there and the food was well presented and didn't take to long. It was very tasty Would definitely visit this place again.

First time eating at the Fox last night & was very impressed. The food was lovely & tasty & there’s plenty of it, in fact, too much for me as the portions are large but they’re well with the money. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the place itself is very homely and cosy. Plenty of parking for a Saturday night too which was good. The staff are lovely and friendly and food arrived in perfect time and desserts are to die for. Will definitely be going again.

We arrived at 8pm on a Saturday evening without a booking, so we has to wait 30 minutes for a table as the pub was very busy. Once seated we order a sharing starter and loaded potato skins for starers and a mix grill each for main.. All the food was Cooked really well and the mixed grill had lots of meat choices. (I did struggle to eat it all but all the meat was cooked exactly the way I like it) Drink prices were very reasonable for the area. If I am in the area again I would definitely go for another meal here and try something different on the menu.

I find the food good and reasonably priced, The staff are pleasant and helpful. Ready to answer queries regarding dietary needs. Sometimes you can walk in during the week, but fill up very quickly at lunch time, I would advise booking as they are very busy especially weekends and holiday times Close to 3 very good garden centres .

We walked in today and the host sorted us a table for 7 without booking. Only waited a few minutes. The host was lovley and noticed my nan was struggling. Respectfully ask if she would like a chair with arm rests. Very thankful as she is 92 years strong. Bless her. The food was well worth the money. The food was on point. Not a bad thing to say. The mix grill was the best my husband has had in years. Will we be back!!
