Huge fan of real Gelato (not the so called gelato you see in most high streets these days). When I travel to Italy I make it my goal to try the highest rated Gelato places each day I'm in a particular city.
I'm always trying to find the best gelato places in the UK. Unfortunately most are located in central London which is fine if you want the occasional Gelato on a sunny day but a bit more difficult if you want to eat good ice cream at home.
I recently moved to the Wokingham area and had a look to see what was around locally and stumbled upon Cristina at Riviera dei Gelati. Immediately I was intrigued because this was home made gelato not mass produced stuff that all these so called Gelato places buy from Cash and Carry's.
I texted Cristina and made an order (paying via a bank transfer), for collection 2 days after the order date. It was all very easy and very cheap considering the quality.
I am very glad to say that the Gelato is of a fantastic quality. I immediately wanted to have another bowl after finishing my first. This is the real deal! I am so excited to try more flavours. I will certainly be in touch soon! Keep up the great work!!
Brought yesterday first time had Strawberry as had cooked Italian meal for my partner and just wanted to get some real traditional Italian Ice cream. It was delicious and amazing š Took me back to my trip last year to Romeš Thanks so much Christina for doing that last min. Will definitely buy again and recommend. Pete& Ildiš
We tried the salted caramel and mint choc-chip from Cristina yesterday. Both were absolutely delicious and very welcome in this heat-wave. My 9 year old son said ā10/10, 5 star, itās perfectā. My husband said it was one of the best ice-creams he has ever tasted. We look forward to trying more flavours in due course and definitely recommend to anyone looking for authentic ice-cream from a local supplier.
Delicious! So much better than Ben and Jerry's or hagen daaz, try the stracciatella you won't regret it :)
Really excellent home made ice cream with superb quality ingredients. You have to remember to it in time as everything is freshly made to order. Itās always a pleasure going to pick up ice cream as the welcome is so warm. I think my favourite flavour (if forced to choose) would be raspberry and mascarpone. You might imagine it would be expensive but it comes in about the same as gourmet ice cream from the super market.
Please note, this is an ice cream manufacturer from which you buy direct, not an ice cream parlour.
Oh my Goodness, this Is the most amazing Ice cream I have ever tried. As a family we are all hooked. The quality is second to none. The variety of flavours is incredible. I havenāt worked out my favourite yet as they are all so good.
The only trouble is, itās so good it doesnāt last long.
Genuinely incredible gelato made to order at your request. We're serial binge ice cream customers as simply can't make our minds up about which delicious flavour to have. Mocha, Lemon and Chocolate Orange are my favourites. Best ice cream I've ever tasted.
Out of this world
Oh my goodness! The gelato is incredible. Bought a coffee ice cream and a strawberry sorbet. Not disappointed at all. The coffee is amazingly creamy and is full of flavour, rich with just the right amount of sweetness and the sorbet is absolutely beautiful. Fresh and fruity, just what's needed after a summer barbecue. Can't wait to try their other flavours. At Christmas, the orange ice cream is a joy. Fresh and uplifting after a huge Xmas day meal. Thank you!
The BEST icecream I have EVER had the pleasure to taste! Cristina makes her icecream freshly to order, with fresh ingredients and no unnecessary additives, and couldnāt be more accommodating in meeting your requirements. Our particular favourites are the chocolate and the salted caramel. Please ignore the fake bad review that has been posted here, by someone who has clearly never used this business.
Well, I couldnāt disagree more with this earlier review. They mention āhaving to eat here againā which is clearly fake, you canāt eat here, you pick up the most incredible gelato and sorbets and eat elsewhere.
Iāve been using Riviera dei Gelati for the past couple of years. The quality of products are just out of this world, by far the best Iāve experienced. Iāve purchased many as gifts or to take to parties (pre Covid), everyone has adored them. The menu is extensive and the quality of the product in terms of presentation and taste is outstanding. Christina is so helpful and a pleasure to do business with.
Highly recommend, you wonāt be disappointed!
